Ohio State's schedule should not qualify them to go to the NCG over a 1 loss SEC team. It might happen
quote:I'm certainly not trying to defend Clemson in any way but I'd say their schedule is tougher than FSU's. Plus they have the hype advantage. They were ranked in the top 10 (#7?) in the preseason and got all the hype in the world after beating UGA. Beat FSU, USC and the ACCCG against Miami? You're in.
I also think Clemson would not deserve the spot over a 1 loss SEC team. FSU might pull it off

Yea, if Clemson is undefeated, not only will they deserve to be in the BCSCG, they will of certainly earned it. I would say they would be more deserving than anyone else that could be undefeated.

A 1 loss Alabama (losing only to LSU) and winning the conference championship will be in over FSU or Clemson. Alabama always gets 1 free loss per season. They can lose to LSU and still get in the championship. No other team really has that luxury
No chance in hell a one loss team gets into the BCS this year even if that one loss team wins the SEC in ATL provided there are 2 other teams at the top that are unbeaten (ie. Oregon, Fl St, Clemson, Ohio St).

If LSU beats Bama and A&M, we will be in the SEC championship so you are incorrect.

Maybe he's assuming LSU loses to aTm. It could be JFF's signature road win for the year.

Umm, why do you give a frick? Both teams have schedules that rival with Louisville
Lol.
Clemson, if we go undefeated, will have beat the two best teams in the East, the second best team in the ACC, and likely a top 10/15 Miami team.
It'd be arguably the top resume in the nation.

He's definitely an aTm fan in disguise

Surprisingly last years record has no bearing on this year. Crazy huh.

So it'd make you feel better if I'd said "a 13 win Ohio State team gets in before a 1-loss SEC team"?

You primarily play third tier teams like Virginia, who we handily dispatched earlier in the season. You do play some good teams, I'll give you that. We defeated WA on the road, will be playing a top 10 UCLA or Stanford, and will have to play UCLA a second time in the PAC championship if we win our games. You are also dealing with the last 4 years of clout we earned by being in BCS games those 4 years. You won't catch up to us, you'll need someone to slip up in order to get to the NCG.

This will be a great game, can't wait. Both Clemson and FSU are finally legit.

It does. I do see where you're coming from, however I'm not convinced this will be the case. OSUs best wins so far are Northwestern, who was killed by Wisconsin and dropped out of the top 25, and then against Wisconsin who has two losses already, one to a not very good Arizona state team. The rest of their schedule is cupcakes with their only "meaningful" game left is against a now unranked Michigan team that lost to Penn State.
I may be wrong but I see no strength of schedule or quality wins.

Clemson beats FSU then unbelievably loses to Maryland.

Nothing you said is incorrect as far as public perception. I never said Clemson should or would jump Oregon.
All I'm saying is this isn't the Clemson or FSU resume of old. If you took all the teams' resumes at a snapshot from this year alone, not counting Bama's and Oregon's histories, and Clemson's would stack-up with either of them.
Again, I'm not saying that will nor should it happen, but if either Bama or Oregon slip-up they won't get another shot if Clemson or FSU are undefeated.

Clemson will beat Florida State and then lose to Maryland the following week. That's how they roll.

quote:You're right. It's in our best interest if both you and FSU take a loss. I'm unsure which would be better at this point. I don't know who I'm going to root for in this game. At least one of you will lose, and for us that's good.

I hope not. If Oregon is in the NCG I don't want to see us play either of these two teams. I hope they both take 1 loss and are knocked out of contention. We will beat them. I want to see Oregon play Alabama and take on the best in the nation. Anything less would be a travesty.
I'm not positive bama is the best team in the sec let alone all of cfb. Bama HAS shown they can suck at times on offense and the one offense with a pulse they played, put up 600 yards of offense.

If you think a 1 loss bama is getting in over an undefeated AQ team , you're dumb. Bama does not play a hard schedule either.
