Won't happen, but that would be perfect!

No, no. USC is the greatest job in CFB, hands down. Sumlin hates A&M and wants out ASAP because it's an awful place to coach. That's just how it is.
USC doesn't even deserve a coach of Sumlin's caliber at this point. Kiffin was one of the worst hires in recent memory, and they deserve to wander in the desert for a while because of it.

He never says "I was offered the Eagle's job and I turned it down." All he's doing there is coach-speaking around the general concept of being offered NFL interviews.
He said he's had an opportunity to be a head coach in the NFL. Do you really think he meant an opportunity to merely interview?

WE love A&M, and it is a great institution and a good job, but it isn't top-tier and coaches who have their eyes on a premier gig or the NFL will definitely jump from us.
A&M has all the infrastructure a head coach needs to win at a truly elite level. That's been the case for around 25 years. For most of that time we've been a pretty good program. With the move to the SEC and all it has brought in terms of money, exposure and excitement, the setting has never been so ripe for TAMU to enter entrance into the blueblood category.
Will it happen? I don't know. But we lack nothing. Sumlin knows this.

Sumlin said last year that A&M was his dream job actually, that being said, if USC calls I'm sure he'll listen, I just don't think he's bolt, all his recruiting connections are in Texas and the surrounding areas, he's coaching in the premiere conference right now, I'll be more worried if the NFL comes calling

It scares me he could land in Florida is things don't go well in Gainesville this season.

Yeah I don't put much stock into the alleged "dream job" comment, mainly because I've never actually heard Sumlin say that. I've only known that to be Liucci's opinion. And while Billy is very close with Sumlin personally, you have to weigh that against his patent bias.
If you have a quote from Sumlin that might change my opinion.

I hear ya Dwag, we'll just have to wait and see, I think he enjoys A&M more than some believe, for now I'm just gonna enjoy him and Johnny being on our side

Who is Sumlin's agent? If it's Sexton by any chance, aggies better get used to this, annually, as Sexton plays that card better than any agent out there.

Between the SEC, Texas recruiting, the fall of texas, and with A&M getting new facilities (to include upgrading the stadium), you can't tell me that A&M is not one of the top 10 programs to coach right now. However, A&M should throw some $$$$ at Sumlin after this season.

Even *I* wouldn't wish that on you. I might giggle if it did for a minute but I wouldn't really want that to happen.
