If that is the best area, then I have over estimated the city. The part I am talking about is the area near Central High School to the Stadium. Looks very unsafe and rundown.

You must be thinking about the other side of 10th Ave from CHS, but even that area is getting better. That's still a good walk away from the stadium.

There are dozens of neighborhoods nicer than that area so I'm not saying it's a nice "new" area. The neighborhood I described has 50 and 60 year old houses so I'm not sure what you are expecting from that area. I never claimed it was Mountain Brook but it is FAR away from being a "hellhole" unless you consider living in a safe neighborhood with refurbished older houses surrounded by co-eds a "hellhole".

Get someone to hold your hand next time you walk through there then. And carry a whistle with you in case it gets dark. That or just stay home you puss.
