Y'all are just gonna piss off Sam Houston again. Plus, everyone knows South Carolina is always the first to secession.

Have you been to Texas A&M?
A few times because I have a few Aggies in my family. They tend to be a bit more humble when talking about A&M than Texas as a State. Most of our holidays are spent being reminded ad nauseum how much better Texas is than LA, and they're serious.
One in particular sees red every time he's reminded "coonass ditch diggers state university" has a two game win streak and an overall winning record against his beloved aggies.

While they're getting facerolled by shitty teams?
There wouldn't be a single Texas fan to be found on tRant any given Saturday night.
In that regard, they'd be a perfect candidate...

Agreed. Except you'll be following SC again in that regard.

See, that's what you people (I use a Texan's own words there) still do not understand. The all for one and one for all mentality that all true Southerners are born with - it is part of our genetic code. Loyalty, honor, perseverance.
BTW, what would the Alamo have been without their two bravest?
Colonel William B. Travis ... a South Carolinian from the next county over from where I am sitting right now.
James Bonham ... a South Carolinian also from only a few miles from where I am sitting right now. He left the Alamo in search of reinforcements, then, when denied, he returned to the Alamo by fighting his way through Mexican lines where he fought to his death.
But it seems like you aggies don't get that kind of Southernism. You're too busy filling your jizz jar every day.

Yup. Just like an LSU fan they will blame it on themselves rather than give you credit, but like a Texan they will act like it was an outlier rather than the norm.

Well as a native Louisianan that lives in Texas they are right. The suburb I live is considered a poor part of Texas, but is nicer than any part of Louisiana I have ever seen if you judge nice the way a Texan does (new strip malls of chain stores combined with close and well kept highways).
I always rub that shite in when I go home to visit.

So they'll melt the frick down and get trolled relentlessly. That's acceptable too.

So after they (hypothetically) go winless in the SEC, we'll get to see them melt the frick down and get trolled relentlessly over and over again every week?
Sign them the frick up!

You're equal with Arkie now. But if by equal you mean Big VI, its about titles and not about perception. Kentucy shared an SEC title in the '70s but other than that its been all Big VI since integration.
It'll take years of sustained success to be an SEC elite but unlike the Longhorn conference you win respect on the field and not in backroom deals.

More than 20 years, look at Arkansas and USC and they aren't equals. Possibly never since they aren't a charter member.

The honest answer is that you're close already, but the flood of bravado and "Texas superiority" has resulted in more resistance than normal.
Can't fight facts.

Well, I'd say perception plays a small role insofar as brand value is concerned, but you're pretty much dead on.

Thank God, we suck with backroom deals.

Consistently being the team not named Alabama or LSU won't do it. I agree with another poster that said winning the SEC or a NC will do it.
It could be worse you could be Missouri.
