You identify yourself as a Bama fan and I am talking about Aggie fans. Interesting you would use the word "we". My experience in Tuscaloosa wasn't so pleasant.
Aggies are better fans than gumps. Shocker.

I've heard stallings on the radio in recent years saying the same thing. He doesn't like home team to be loud.

Different as some said because of the chanting and singing, but it got loud
I'm not sure I understand the point of this. We only do our yells and singing when there is a break in the action. When the opposing offense lines up on the ball, the fans aren't singing or doing organized yells. We are yelling like any other fanbase.

Exactly why y'all were booing our injured players last year, right?
He said hurt, not pussies that were cramping in the big bad Texas sun.

Controlled energy is slowly released and harnessed while its full potential is always in check….
There is nothing controlled about what happens on third and fourth downs its uncontrolled yelling just like EVERYWHERE ELSE... But the "lulls" that every stadium experiences between commercial breaks, special teams shite, etc... that is where the coordination aspect happens. Which is something that most fans envy... Never been to Tiger Stadium, but my LSU friends even noticed this...

I just meant the vibe was different and I agree somewhat with the poster who said it's a more controlled energy.

But when it is the loudest, on third and fouth downs, there is no control whatsoever. I think people that have this opinion have never seen a game there. Just a sneaking suspicion.

I don’t believe changes to their stadium will change this.
Certainly will.
More of it will be enclosed. The seats will be closer to the field, and the field will be further down.
Plus being over 100K means we will get many more T-shirt fans that will get drunk and yell rather than wait for cues.
It will be louder.

Your opinion and mine will never match on this. I think A&M is a great place to see a game. I am living over in the UK and talk with people about college football all the time and where they need to go to have great experience. Of course I always mention LSU and I talk about many others. I usually always mention A&M, especially for people moving to Houston. However, when it comes to noise and the loudest A&M is just not in that number for me.
Have a great weekend and beat Bama.

I'm sure it will be louder just based on the fact that more of it is enclosed.
Will it be as loud as DV or The Swamp is another question, time will tell. Remember we're closing in the south upper as well.

That's fine, and with the number of Aggies that think Tiger Stadium is louder, I don't know why you think I would disgree. The only thing I disagree with is the "controlled energy" description. On third and fourth downs there is no control or coordination.

They are also putting a giant shade over both the East and West Decks to contain the sound. The East Deck one won't actually provide any real shade because of the angle of the sun (except in the early morning when no one is there). They are also moving the visiting section away from where their team enters and it will now be an A&M student section.
A major part of the new Kyle design was noise and intimidation factor. I don't think it will matter much against a Bama like team but it will bother some. Woe to the opposing player that shows the noise is bothering him though.

You sure it won't provide much shade? My professor (turf grass grad student here) went to the SEC sports turf manager meeting in CS and they said they were gonna face some problems with shade from the new stadium when they renovate. Bermuda hates shade.

BTHO??? Really??? Wow.
We used to do opponent-specific yells other than BTHO. Why is it such an offense to do them now? It's like pulling teeth to get people to get with the now on things. What is the point?

Look at that link. The sun beams directly on the east side (the side that picture is looking at) for almost every game except night ones, then they only get sun for half the game. It aint gonna provide much shade. I heard its there more for a film deck that will be constructed up there.

I can't really give you a fair assessment of the crowd noise since A&M sticks their visitors in the end zone somewhere near the Ionosphere. On the bright side, I was able to give that Red Bull guy a high five and a "good luck" just prior to his leap from space.

The WEST deck will provide a ton of shade, the East Deck virtually nil.
