How is this derogatory?
Because just being associated with that university is an insult in and of itself.

Nah, the only explanation I got from our former big12 brethren that used the term was that "aggy" was supposed to imply that A&M people were cultish and such
Kinda. It implies we are a hive mind, hence why you don't use the plural Aggies.

With that said its my favorite. That and Aggot.

I have no issue with derogatory names, I use them. But at least try some originality
Mudbugs, boudins, shite tiggers and LSWho are more original. So frick a gump, barners and ole piss want corn dogs so be it

I'm an LSU fan and there's clearly a lot of butthurt from corndog. Well played

This nickname seemed to bother the LSU fans when Saban said it. Coonass.
Actually a lot of folks like that name. I mean, I'm not what you'd call a coonass, but people still have the "registered coonass" stickers on some of their trucks, so i'm assuming it doesn't bother them that much

Coonass is cool. I'm nowhere near being a coonass, but all my coworkers think Louisiania is one big swamp where everyone drives a fanboat and grows up catching gators.

All these names are pretty dumb.

I've met a lot of Louisianans in my time, but only one proud coonass.
Whenever I ask the other Louisianans about coonasses it usually turns into a five minute diatribe about swamp people/real coonasses (the people, not the show).

"Coonass" doesn't phase me in the least as I'm about as far from being Cajun as one can imagine. Some true Cajuns do still see it as a slur, however.

Living in Baton Rouge for almost 20 years, I have noticed that most LSU fans are proud to be called a "coonass".
The one's I have seen that tend to bother them are:
Corndogs, Lester's Molesters (post Jeremy Hill), and Loser State

Surprised a Mizzou fan has not brought up Slavers, that is a common kU name for Mizzou fans.
