I agree with that sentiment over all, but I will say, in this era of dominance, my friends are happier, the pork tastes better, the whiskey flows more freely, the panties drop more easily, the party in general is just more pleasant.

And as I said before, I love sports and one of the main reasons is an appreciation of greatness. Even if a player isn't on your team, your Michael Jordans, Tigers, Leborns, Greg Madduxes, Adrian Petersons, Messi, etc. Seeing somebody perform at that level has always excited me. I love pulling for my teams, but there's just something about watching the best that has always kind of gotten me off.

And to get to experience the convergence of the best with our beloved Crimson Tide has really been special, something I didn't think I'd ever see. And not just winning the 'ship one year either, but a run of dominance the likes of which most fans will never be fortunate enough to see. And to be aware of this all while it's happening. I dunno, it's pretty special to me as a fan.

I'll still party with my friends and family on Saturdays in the fall when we come back down to earth, but I bet we'll spend a lot of that time reflecting on how it was back in 2013. It won't be the same. I'm savoring every minute of it.
