brooooo 7 billion in endowment....or something.
Oh, I get that. I know all about the old oil money. Good for them. But let's be honest, money only goes so far in this conference and everybody has enough to be dangerous.
aTm can outspend everyone else, I guess, I dunno. Doesn't really matter. It's still about putting a product on the field year-in and year-out and having to compete against everyone else who is also filthy rich.
I was in Dallas, for a family reunion, back in the 70s and was told by a cousin that, in Texas, you were not considered filthy rich unless you had 500 million in your bank account. Anything less than that was just rich.
These days it's about billions - but that doesn't change anything or make it different now than it did then. It's got more to do with class - and honestly, right now, every program in the league has more class than aTm appears to have. And that will catch-up to them.
Think about it this way. They've always had money ... where has it gotten them? The only reason they are feeling emboldened right now is because they are now members of the SEC. The problem is, they are just not very good citizen members and, who knows, perhaps that is why they were so unanimously disliked in the Big 12 as well? I dunno. I hope they get over themselves one of these days. A&M actually has some good fans here and there - just notosmuch here evidently. A few, a few good ones, but so many trolls ... so many trolls.

No we haven't. There was a time where we weren't even the second or even now(largest) university in the state. Texas Tech held the title of the second largest for almost a decade, and then we let in women and made the corps non-mandatory. George Mitchell didn't even become rich until the 90s.

I am actually jealous of the West this year. Everybody in the West gets a shot at mudholing JFF and ohhhhh how I wish I could get to see what Sutton and Clowney would do to him
Fans talk a lot of noise, but no one has ever done sh** to him. At the best, they would impact/limit his numbers but Clowney wouldn't touch him. He runs circles around Clowney.

The original post I made was not a shot at Manziel I give him a ton of credit and he deserves all the hype..every bit.
Break down A&M forgetting Manziel, and do the same with Alabama sans Mc Carron.
Not even close. A&M is an ordinary football team period.

This is why the Aggies don't have the leather helmet football championships to boast about:
On April 21, 1946 General of the Army Douglas MacArthur sent a message from his office as Supreme Allied Commander for the Allied Forces to Aggies. It is quoted in its entire text below:
Sons of Texas A&M
On Corregidor - 21 April 1946
In this hallowed soil lie the mortal remains of many men who have died that liberty might live. Among the bravest of these brave are twenty officers, sons of Texas A&M, unable themselves to answer this year's annual muster. It is for us, therefore, to do so for them -- to answer for them in clear and firm voice -- Dead on the battleswept Corregidor where their eternal spirit will never die but will march on forever, inspiring in those who follow the courage and the will to preserve well that for which they bled.
Of them and those of their fellow alumni who lie in hallowed soil of other lands and those who survive them, may it truly be said that in the noble teachings of their Alma Mater -- in the tradition of the great American leader, Sam Houston, who this day, one hundred and ten years ago, wrested Texas from foreign dominion by defeating Santa Ana on the historic battlefield of San Jacinto - they stood steadfast, unyielding and unafraid through those dark days of our country's gravest peril - and by inspiring example helped point the way.
Signed - Douglas MacArthur

Funny. Bama Can't stand it. Starting threads about scenarios that would make A&M's worse by losing their Heisman winning QB.
Bama is mad because JFF mad them look like the old saints - always in the opponents highlight reel. The fumble the ball in the middle of the Bumbling Bama D Line - finding it - spinning out and hitting a strike in the back of the endzone.
That play made JFF the legend that he is - combined with setting the all time yardage record in sec history.
Is the play that pushed the voters to give the Heisman to a Freshman.
That play will be played as much as any play will ever be played as long as we are all alive. Its embarrassing. Its a dunked on poster. Its the old Saints playing D.
Gumps are just mad and embarrassed its ok. Its normal. Yall played a good game though. Good Game.

STRICTLY a one trick pony. Let Manziel tweak an ankle and they're a three loss team, whereas Alabama could survive the same to Mc Carron and get by playing defense and running the football.
Johnny Manziel is special no doubt about that. But the Ags are like Auburn a few years back..one man team
Hey, im not a fan of either team--but their defense shut mccarron & company down last year..

TAM played like a 3.3 star recruiting program with a Heisman trophy winner last year.
They beat the SEC and BCS Champion, but lost two close games to the most dominant SEC powers over the past ten or twelve years--Florida and LSU.
After joining the SEC, beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa, winning the Heisman with Johnny Football, and killing Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl, the Aggies now have a recruiting program that will allow them to start reloading instead of rebuilding after a couple of more recruiting classes.
The Aggies are in the SEC now, and they are for real!

The Aggies don't have anything yet. They have one good year under there belt. Let's give them a couple more years to see if they can keep it going before anointing them.

well the aggies lost 2 games last year even with jff. so if they didn't have him i dont see how its that much of a stretch to see them losing 3 or more games

The Aggies have a great coaching staff, Johnny Manziel, and Texas High School Football on their side.
They don't have the talented depth that Bama and LSU have, but that is about to change in a couple of more recruiting classes.
Bama has to be the favorite again this year, but in 2014, they are no better than even money against TAM, LSU, and Florida--if they ever play the Gators.
Saban can run from the B1G, but he can't always hide from my Scarlet & Gray!
