I agree, South Carolina doesn't match Florida when it come to the pool of football talent, but not many states do. You would just think with him being Steve Spurrier, he could dip into a surrounding state and steal an elite QB or even coach an average one up. Just look at past schools with a mediocre football past. NC State managed to land Phillip Rivers and Russell Wilson, Kentucky had Andre Woodson. A great QB is really all South Carolina has been missing since Spurrier got there. I am beginning to think at Florida Spurrier was just great at stacking talent and calling plays and not so much the QB guru people believe him to be.

That's why I thought I'd get some flack on previous post. That works in CFB where you can outrun or out muscle most other teams but not in NFL, where the playing field is pretty level. Personally I think he has become a better HC at SCar. He recruits well at a place that is hard to recruit, makes good staff hires, and is keeping the program on the same page...to me the 3 primary functions of an HC.
