We just want the other competitor in the west to play a comparable schedule.
It's pretty much this.
The more I think about it, the more I hope this new playoff leads to less focus on perfect season (which encourages scheduling shitty rent a wins) and puts all the focus on being the best team. I'd rather ALL the games on the schedule be against quality opponents and see a 2 loss team regularly make the playoffs. The reason it doesn't happen now is because unlike the NFL there's no guarantee that your peers are going to play a somewhat comparable schedule. Sure it's great that every game matters in college and you can't sneak into the college football title game despite barely winning more than half your regular season games but NFL teams don't get to schedule the Sisters of the Poor as a regular season game.

Why can't Bama fans admit they have played easy schedules over the last couple of years and that the only reason they have won 3 natty's?............ Its ok we understand there is a lot of hate towards ya.... But if you seriously cant admit it your fooling yourselves..... Geaux Tigers!! See ya in Nov... P.S. No one cares about gators except the swamp people we will destroy them this year!

Bama played UF, UGA, and USC before 2012, when LSU was playing Vandy, UK and UT. I dont seem to recall any bitching back then

You mean when they had UGA, UF, and USC on their schedule? those past couple of years?

You know we get into this all the freaking time. But explain to me again why LSU is playing UGA again before Bama does. Bridge schedule.

I do not understand why lsu fans get so worked up about sec scheduling? It may suck to be paired with Florida, as they have been consistently good for a long time. But, Long story short is, I do not recall hearing gator fans concern themselves with being paired with LSU nearly as much as we do. Lsu is elite, Florida should be just as annoyed.

The biggest complaint is that in the two years the SEC has made up the schedule, we have gotten USCe and UGA away, and Bama has gotten Kentucky and Missouri. We have play 2/3 of the good teams in the east while they play none until the SEC Championship game, or none at all if they get put in the NCG because they are bama.

You do know there are other teams in this league besides LSU and Bama. I know its hard to grasp, but other teams schedule availability did play a role in the bridge schedule. And onoez the bumped they UGA game up by 1 or 2 years for LSU.
The funny thing is, last summer, when ya'll were bitching about bama's schedule, the common retort was we just want to play more of the other teams, we want to play UGA's and USC's more often. Now when one is put on LSU's schedule, it's all bitching and moaning

I have no issue with being paired with Florida if we are forced to have a permanent opponent. But the entire concept sucks.

I hear ya, NYC, but did the league office ever break down in detail why the bridge schedule ended up as it did?
I think it's all spilled milk at this point (unless we go through another expansion). I see absolutely no reason to go beyond 14 teams. Just make it a 9 game schedule and get us back to where we were (2 rotating, 1 permanent).

Let's look at the 2012 SEC Schedules
Florida - LSU, Texas A&M
Texas A&M - Florida, Missouri
South Carolina - LSU, Arkansas
LSU - South Carolina, Florida
Georgia - Auburn, Ole Miss
Alabama - Missouri, Tennessee
Pick the two teams that made it to the SEC Championship

Its easy for me to see, and its due to the unbalanced nature of having cross division opponents and with the addition of A&M and Mizzou all teams lose out on a rotating opponent. So basically Alabama's east opponent s will win 2-6 Sec games combined. While teams like LSU and Arky east opponents will win 12-14 SEC games combined.
If the schedule continues like this it will be a problem.

2011 schedules
Alabama - UF, UT, Vandy
LSU - UF, UT, UK
2010 schedules
Alabama - UF, UT, USCe
LSU - UF, UT, Vandy
So in 2011 the cross-divisional schedule was basically the same, while in 2010 Bama had the tougher cross-divisional schedule (forgetting about the bye-week issue).
Anyone that says that Bama/REC has any kind of sway over the schedules is a freaking idiot. LSU fans need to man up and play their one year, lopsided cross-divisional schedule. It is one freaking year for goodness sakes (again, no one knew Mizzou would crap the bed before the start of last season, and a lot of people picked Mizzou to finish better than UGA).

I read 2 1/2 pages. fricking pussies is what our fans are who bitch about the schedule. I don't give a frick if Bama has an easier schedule. Win the fricking games.

Explain to me how this will be the case going forward considering our ONLY permanent cross-divisional opponent is UT, who happens to have arguably the second best history in the SEC. As a program, UT is historically on par with UF as a SEC player. How can you justify that statement?

Personally I love playing Florida every year. But if you don't see the legitimacy of the complaint that right now the schedule set up gives Alabama an advantage in winning the West then you are blind or delusional. There is no doubt that Bama has an easier road getting to the SEC title game than LSU.

The bye week issues was an issue for years. It wasn't until the 2010 season when 6 conference teams had bye weeks before playing us (the next closest was 2 or 3). After that, Mal Moore finally put his foot down on it.
Since 2007, these are the number of SEC games played when the opponent had an open week prior to the game:
17—Alabama, 5—LSU, 4—Vanderbilt, 4—Florida, 4—Tennessee, 3—Georgia, 3—Auburn, 2—Kentucky, 1—Ole Miss, 1—Mississippi State, 0—Arkansas, 0—South Carolina
So that had been going on for years prior to Mal finally complaining about it.

Its not a Bama and Lsu problem it is a conference wide problem. The scheduling in its current format with the way divison champions are determined is unbalanced.
Anyone whould says the Sec offices had a hand in making bama schedule this year is stupid.
