I don't always like miles. But 24 is just retarded.
But hey, I don't even care.

Why is that fricking nut case Urbie Meyer so overrated over and over and over again?

So, let me get this straight.......Spurrier hasn't won the conference since 2000, but he's the 2nd best coach in the conference, and Miles is the 24th best coach in the nation?

I'm not reading this entire thread, but this list is a fricking joke. Les drives me crazy sometimes, but he is a damn good coach. They don't even mention Les winning a MNC. Wow.

Spurrier's won a lot more SEC titles.

Yeah, nobody with an active brain should take this list seriously.

Yeah, in the 90's, which is kinda my point. He hasn't won the SEC since 2000, and his biggest accomplishment since then is the largest margin of loss in the history of the SEC Championship game, but we're supposed to forgive him for that.
Meanwhile, Miles has 3 west titles, 2 SEC titles, a national title and a BCS win over Notre Dame, and the highest win percentage of any LSU coach in history.............but he doesn't even break the top ten.
I'm not trying to bash Spurrier, but this list has down syndrome.

How many other coaches have two national titles, two undefeated seasons, and four BCS bowl wins? Meyer's a prick but he's a great coach.

Miles is better than 24 but Gundy has had more success at OK State than Miles did. Or do you consider LSU and OK State on equal footing? Far easier to be successful at LSU than OK State.
Going by that logic, Mark Dantonio is a better coach than Nick Saban because Dantonio's been the more successful coach at Michigan State.

I agree Meyer is a good coach, but he's going to get fricking dragged if he makes it to the MNC against any SEC school that makes it.

I am not saying Gundy is better but when deciphering reason why another writer may make a list of coaching rankings that is likely the reason he chose Gundy higher. THE only flaw in your analogy is that Gundy has top five finishes with BCS appearances, Dantonio has not had nearly the success as either coach. Gundy's success is at least in the ball park of Miles and Saban.

Wow.
There's a slight difference between a top five finish and a national championship. Bobby Petrino will tell you there's even a slight difference between a top five finish and a conference championship.

That's why I said ball park not as good but more importantly my point is comparing Dantonio record against saban or Miles when he hasn't had nearly the same success is not the same as comparing the body of work of Miles and Gundy when OK State has been good for a while now and have been very successful. Fans can not complain about consistent top five finishes in this day and age of cfb.
