Game Two Sophomore RHP Brett Graves (0-2 2.64) will take the mound for the Missouri Tigers while RHP Ryan Eades (5-0, 1.63 ERA) will take the Mound for the Tigers of LSU. Game is at 2pm edt 1pm cdt

Game three will feature Mizzou's true freshmen RHP Alec Rash (2-1, 0.53 ERA) highest drafted player this year to play college baseball, has sick stuff, only reason he is a sunday starter is he at times lacks control. vs. LHP Cody Glenn (4-1, 2.27 ERA) for LSU.

Why would highest drafted player go to Mizzou? No offense, but y'all don't appear to be a baseball hotspot.

You don't have great options as a 23rd round pick ...

J/K - there are many many reasons to go to a University like Mizzou over some upfront cash.

I hope both teams remember to bring their better bats with them today. I think last night they left their good bats at home and were using some bats leftover from the highschool junior varsity scrimmage game from earlier in the day.

Radar isn't looking too beautiful. Heading to Columbia from St. Louis right now.

"Welcome to Missouri, sit anywhere ya want."

Never been to an SEC stadium where you could walk in, sit at field level right by the dugout and not be asked to move by a season ticket holder or stadium staff.

We sat right behind LSU's on deck circle and had other LSU fans fill in on the third row behind us. We all agreed that would never happen at the Box.

I didn't know there was such a thing as a college baseball snob. Funny stuff, really. With the Cards and Royals to choose from, Mizzou will never be a huge fan draw in baseball. Will it get better? yes. The only place it really counts is on the scoreboard and it will take a recruiting cycle for Mizzou to step up to the plate in the SEC. It will happen but MU will be taking their lumps in most sports for a few years.

Actually enjoyed being able to have our kids get that close to the game.

To have that sort of seat at Alex Box would require big time TAF contributions and buying season tickets.

The folks at Missouri were very hospitable. Shuttled us up the hill and were very nice. I can tell that some are still learning the SEC.

To be fair, this is the same conversation had during football season. Missouri is a pro sports state. There is nothing wrong with that, but MU doesn't stand a chance in the SEC if its fan base would choose a Chiefs, Rams, Cards, Royals, etc. game over MU.

They still get guys drafted. They recently had a stretch of 3 years in a row with a pitcher drafted in the first round. And I think all of them are in the majors now. Aaron Crow was one of them, he's teammates with Louis Coleman now.

Mizzou fans would show up if they field winning teams. The OU vs Mizzou game awhile back was one of the loudest games I've heard. You know Mizzou is good when the "Rocky M" hill is covered and you can't see the "M". If you suck, people won't show up as much. I've seen SEC stadiums last season that wasn't full, not loud, etc because their teams sucked.

This is the time for Mizzou football to really get some fans with the RAMS and CHIEFS sucking. One thing people need to do is invest in Mizzou's facilities. I heard they've had some GOOD donations from big donors come in, plenty more still coming. Fans in KC and STL stepped up for the Chiefs, CARDS(now building ballpark village), Royals in terms of stadium support, now Mizzou have to field good teams to get that same support across the state.

Hell even the AA Springfield Cards are hot with their prospects that will be playing in STL this year or next year. Springfield is usually going to the Texas League playoffs, just won the Texas League Championship last season.

Mizzou needs to build a stadium, then dish some money at Missouri State's baseball coach. That man brings in some good in-state talent to Springfield,MO. Plus they play in a nice stadium.

We were at MSU's First Pitch banquet. They have a big advantage with being able to practice/play at Hammons Field.

I'll probably go watch them play Wichita State.

Impossible. No way a 23rd round draft pick is the highest drafted player to not go to the pros.

ETA: The poster who wrote that Rash was drafted in the 23rd round was wrong. Rash was drafted in the second round so it is indeed possible he is the highest drafted player to not go pro.

Yeah, I just googled Rash and saw that. I was going by the previous poster's statement about him being drafted in the 23rd round.
