I realize how fun this is for Bama fans and I can't blame you for enjoying it but,If LSU were to lose LF to Bama considering the circumstances I would imagine there would be some changes made.
There would have to be, wouldn't there? It sounded like Les let other RBs go last year just to get LF, which is a dumb move IMO. You never know what these teenagers are going to do.

I agree 100%,Hopefully in doesn't backfire.I was surprised they let the Taylor kid from TX get away,he was impressive and apparently all LSU.

I know this is the popular thing the say around here and once something starts getting repeated around here it never stops. But let's get a couple things straight. LSU did not neglect taking an RB last year because of Fournette.
LSU would have taken Adam Taylor last year if they felt good enough about him as a prospect. They didn't, so they let him go to Nebraska. Louisiana did not produce a single SEC caliber RB last year - the highest rated in-state back signed with ULL. Had there been someone worthy in-state, he would have gotten a long look. There were other positions of need to address last recruiting cycle and RB just wasn't a priority. /end rant. Gets tiring seeing the same bs here over and over again.

There's a lot of ignorance in this. LSU is a national brand, shouldn't they look outside their state borders for prospects? LSU could have gotten a top RB if they chose to, but they didn't, putting all of their eggs in the LF basket. If it pays off, then great. But like I said, LF could just as easily go to UF/UGA/AU or anywhere else in the country as he could go to LSU. It's just a bold (read risky) move on LSUs part.

You guys need to lay off the LA recruits so we can keep this game interesting.

LSU is four deep at RB right now and all of them are from Louisiana. We don't look outside the state for RBs often. If we do, we look to Texas, and both Texas and Louisiana had a very poor selection of RBs. Sure LSU is a national brand but once you start talking about the states of Alabama, Georgia, Florida recruiting becomes very competitive. We're just not going to go into one of those states a pluck the best RB, whereas we can (and will) do that in Louisiana.

It's always going to be interesting, regardless of the LA kids that decide to come here

LSU didn't have to have a RB in the last class but I'm surprised they didn't take one. 4 deep is adequate as long as the injury bug doesn't bite

We would have been hurting if Yeldon hadn't been as good as he was, with all of the injuries that we had, that's for sure. We had a little luck.

It's still possible that Brazil plays there. They haven't really nailed down what side of the ball he'll be on yet. My guess is that he gets looks all over the place the first few days of practice.

LSU has to land two high quality RBs this cycle.

That's why I don't understand slow playing Williams from Ehret. UGA already offered him, and they barely ever look in Louisiana for players.

God bless the SEC if he fits in at RB...if the defense blinks, they'll miss him

As long as he's not a tackle dodger like McCalebb he was fast as shite ran away from any contact though
I said this in the OTHER older LF thread lol that I didn't understand the thought process behind not taking a RB and that is regardless of getting or not getting LF, I know he is an LSU lean but SEC is a tough league and RBs are often hit the hardest with injuries EVERY SINGLE year
So IMHO you sign at least 1, 2 if you can, go out and find a bigger pro style back in AL or Texas, hell there are kids who don't get offers to any major schools in Fla that have to go to USF or FIU.

tackle dodger like McCalebb
He was just scared of any contact whatsoever...except that one time he ran over Dre Kirkpatrick. I'm pretty sure that was the only guy he EVER ran over at Auburn.

Bucc, I know this doesn't really resonate with Bama fans, but there are limitations on scholarships. Most schools are not in the business of signing players just for the sake of signing a player then cutting him later. LSU is not going to sign a USF-type guy they don't feel will be a long-term contributer. And I'll say it again, if there was that type of talent available last year in Louisiana we'd have taken him. We just had much greater needs last year, namely DL, to take a flier on a mediocre back.

I read your multiple posts on this, and I must say, this is simply silly to think that in every situation, every recruiting class must have one RB. Especially, at the RB position, where an impact can regularly occur from a true freshman. Just a very arbitrary thought on your part.

Bucc is a guy that truly can't be reasoned with but for some reason I still respond to his posts. I've already pointed out to him LSU's MONUMENTAL mistake in 2008 when we didn't a sign runningback and how it set the program back years and years.

You are saying sign one or two RBs every year. Take them just to say you signed at least one RB?
Is there a certain number of RBs on a roster where it dosen't become necessary to sign one in an upcoming class?
