And Deion loses that battle. Argument over.
You define athleticism as speed, hitting ability, and throwing ability.
Not only are those three categories extremely arbitrary, they're also not how I would define athleticism.
Bottom line is that Deion/Bo are probably a wash athletically and Deion had a MUCH better athletic career. You can draw whichever conclusion you want.

Are stats really the best evidence here?
Yes. What other concrete facts do we have to talk about? Hand-timed 40 yard dashes?

Yeah, I'm waiting for him to pull out the Herschel card. Pretty soon he'll be posting pics of 40 y.o. Herschel as MMA fighter.
I didn't need to.
Only the butthurt bring that up.
I did ask who is the better athlete today?
Staypuff marshmellow man or Leon Sandcastle.

OK, argument back on. I'm game. What other categories would you suggest?
Leaping ability? I think Bo takes that one, too.
Pure strength? Bo.
So what is Deion better at?

I don't think you really know what butthurt means.

They didn't in 1986, genius.
Were you born in 1990?
Coaches always looked at starts.
10 yard is functional speed in sports.
40 yards isn't.
It's why Deion was so much quicker on the basepaths than Bo.
In about 90 games, he led the MLB in triples one season.
Over 162 game average, he is a 75 stolen base guy.
And you are the one telling me that Bo was faster and the faster starter than Deion.
Watch some football with Deion showboating and tell me who the faster athlete was getting separation in the first 10 yards. Without the first 10 getting separation, there would have been no Primetime.

Not empathetically. No.
Never been there, myself.
Do you want to share with the class?

Again, this is subjective and that's ok, because that's the only "evidence" you have of what you are saying.
Show me 10 yard splits for Bo and Deion. Oh wait, they don't exist. K now, bye.

Showing you where Deion had almost 4 times the stolen base average than Bo is not subjective.
Showing you where Deion led MLB in triples in about 95 games is not subjective.
You need to learn what subjective means and come back to us.

There are other things that go into stealing bases besides "quickness." Things like predictive capability, sliding ability, etc. Again, this is not direct evidence of your claim. However, it does not surprise me that you don't realize this because you don't seem very smart at all.

And I could show you where Bo had like 5x more career home runs.

Learn what evidence is and get back to me. They seem to be doing you a disservice over there at UGA.

Bo Jackson was stronger and as fast as Deion

We're talking about speed, here.
Deion shows it on the field better than Bo.
And you continually trip over yourself implying that Deion is playing mindgames to steal almost 4 times as often as Bo did.
Here's some more concrete objective facts that I love for you to spin.
Digitally timed, Deion ran a 10.21 100 M dash.
Bo's best time in college (digital) was 10.39.
This is taking the hand times out of it.
But... But... But... Bo weighs 30 more pounds. He's faster because he has more power.

Deion shares his Bo story
By the way this thread is about being the better athlete. Argument for both, but had Bo not gotten hurt he would have had the bigger impact in Baseball and football combined. Deion could be faster, but damn for a guy Bo's size? Just damn and this post is all I will contribute to this thread from here.

Thanks for the common sense.
I'm just jabbing the numbnuts who are continually crying that Bo was faster when deep down, they know they are full of it.
Bo was a freak. But Deion was a once in a lifetime athlete. Honestly... there have been other Bo Jackson's (power/speed combo's at the tailback position). But there haven't been other gamechangers in the mold of Neon Deion.

You're right gump.
A heisman trophy, one of the best college career's of all time, an NFL pro bowl and MLB all star as well as the greatest YPC average of any NFL RB ever = nothing. I am sure you have accomplished more personally.
Oh yeah, 141 home runs in about 3.5 full baseball season is nothing as well.
Qualifying for the olypics is relatively laughable too.
Bo sucked and never did shite.
Right gump?
Did he compete in the Olympics? No
He played 8 seasons in the major leagues, not 3.5. Only stat he ever lead the majors in was strikeouts.
Only an Auburn fan would call his college career one of the best of all time. I can name a dozen running backs with better ones. He's not even the best from the SEC.
Hate to break it to you, but All-Star games are popularity contests, not decided by accomplishments on the field. Bo was very popular, but never produced anything more than mediocre professional stats.
If you carry the ball once for 20 yards, that's a great average. Bo had a couple good games, which combined with his low number of carries gave him a good average. Sad isn't it that he never even once ran for 1000 yards in a season.
Again....production, versus potential. He had the potential, just never the production.
In your fantasy world, potential trumps production. I live in the real world, and production > all.

Yeah. Bo's 162 average over his career for strikeouts was over 190 times.
He did average 30 HRs with that 162 game average, but the tradeoff for that power was striking out well more than once a game.
For those that continually praise his speed, he averaged 19 steals over 162 games (again... Deion was 75).
