Also, I've already acknowledged Texas has its fair shair of rebel flag wavers--my point is that Texas pride trumps Southern pride 9 times out of 10 in the state (and I've lived in 3 very different Texas communities, not just College Station).
Saw far more racist/rebel flag paraphernalia living in Mississippi than in Texas. Not trying to indict MS or the South, but having something other than just southern pride/heritage to hold on to in Texas tempers that a bit, from my experience.
I agree, you Texans sure do love your state, and will let EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. you meet know all about the "great state of Texas".

You're GD right. It's annoying to non-Texans, but we just don't give a frick.
And, FWIW, I like Alabama, and Louisiana, and Mississippi. Never been to Georgia or SC but they see cool. It's the south, man. I love the south.
