No way we ever have two schools from the state of Texas.

There's no need to bring a school like Texas into the SEC at this point. Especially considering their TV network and the way it would work monetarily. I would much rather have Florida State, Virginia Tech, Duke, UNC, Clemson, or NC State.
And I don't see what joining the SEC had to do with A&M's success this year. They had the heisman-winning QB. If Texas had finished the year with 1 loss they would have still been ranked higher than A&M.

Texas has this entitled attitude without having the hardware in the trophy case to back it up. I think they would only cause trouble and division in the SEC.
Having their own TV Network and not sharing profits evenly in the Big 12 just does not sit right with me. I have enjoyed watching A&M out recruit them in their own backyard.
I really don't think Texas could be a member of the SEC without trying to make a power play to dominate the conference. Their ego is way to big to sit at the table with the other SEC schools and only have one vote.

If we're going with 4-team pods, I'd pick OU and KU for a nice geographical fit. If we're sticking with divisions, take UNC and UVA and move Mizzou west. Yes, I know every team I listed has baggage teams, which I didn't include, but there's no need to rush expansion. There are only a few spots left and there's some permanence, so get it makes sense to take only the most valuable additions. These teams may not be willing to leave in the next few years, but big money's coming, and it could motivate these schools to sever ties in the face of opposition.

Exactly. If we went 6-7 like most predicted, there would be not a single Texas fan talking about the SEC.

Oh look another Texas thread on the secr. How exciting and new this thread is

Is the pact between schools(UF, USCe, uk etc.) to not allow other schools from that state in the SEC, is that real?
If so, then the argument should be over and Texas added to list with FSU, Clemson, Louisville, Ga Tech...
And even though Arky and Mizzou are default flagships with no "other" schools in their state, I' bet they vote to block as well

We don't need Texas. They can take their TV deal and shove it right up their arse. Their fans would be the most annoying people on the planet.

Even if the pact is a farce, tv money dictates that new states are added to the footprint.

You do realize that the big 12 shares tier 1 and 2 rights equally? Just like the SEC, and just like the sec, 3rd tier rights remain with the school. The LHN may be an abortion but it does fall in tier 3. So with this abortion of a network does it really matter to any colleges out there?
All this talk of UT wanting to go to the SEC is crazy. Yeah a couple of down years and maybe more to come, who knows. But at the end of the day it's about National Championships.
And in the last 10 years we have played for 2.
I don't think little brother gets one anytime soon. I believe in the likes of LSU, BAMA, Auburn and the rest of the SEC to not let this happen! Little brother is still in texas last time I checked and I'm sure the true south will make sure tamu knows its place in the pecking order.
I do miss the thanksgiving game!

You are the reason us good Texas fans gets a bad name. Quit with the little brother shite. They have moved on to bigger and better things. Let it go.

Going off the BigTen Network model, you (the SEC Network) can charge much more for content in states in your conference footprint. Texas is now covered, same with FL, SC, GA, KY, etc. We won't double down in a state, that's throwing money away.

The Aggies place will be determined by what they do. They narrowly lost to two teams that finished 21-5 and beat the BCS CG winner at their place. They seem en route to be setting their own order.

Hey HOOK'EM, as much venom that is spewed by all teams toward any other rivals, I'm sure using "little brother" hardly is going to give me the moniker of a bad fan!
Should I edit my post and be college football fan PC?
And again, I miss the rivalry!, my aggie friends do also!
So HOOK'EM just chill! Oh and change your retarded avatar !

I made a mistake with my earlier comments. I've since been informed that UT President Powers has been having conversations with the SEC commish. I don't think that they'll be able to come to an agreement, but darn, it looks the Longhorns want to follow the Aggies. Shazzam.
