I found a football book on the world's longest yard sale today. Pretty sure its the first ever mention of what we call the pistol today. Its a book on the double slot veer like Georgia Tech runs.

I heard he's a better prospect than Landon Collins. TIFWIW

If he commits will he still be better than LC?

I can answer the question without knowing the variable. Where is he committing?

I believe its a bigger perception that bama is a true 3-4 defense than they actually are...when you think of florida I believe more ppl believe they are a 4-3 base team even though they do run a mixure of 3-4 4-3 defense.

Why would perception matter when Carter was quoted today that UF is recruiting him as a rush LB?
Carter doesn't want to play in a 4-3, he's on record saying he wants to play in the 3-4. I doubt UF would be leading if they didn't run a 3-4. Carter wants to play the Hybrid role, he wants to cover and rush.
UF
UGA
UA
FSU
ND
All run 3-4 Ds, and are all in Carter's top group...

Word has it that Zo won't make it to campus this weekend. He said he couldn't get a hold of the staff to finalize plans.

I thought it was a bit odd that Bone reported earlier that Carter had said he was visiting, but the staff hadn't been contacted by him about it.

Now they are saying that his reason for not coming is because his ride fell through instead of not being able to get a hold of the staff. That reason makes more sense. He is going to try to reschedule during the season.

I bet Hubbard or Kamara has family coming to watch on fan day. Zo could ride with them assuming he has a pre-existing relationship.

Stephen Roberts on his visit this week:
quote:
“Coach Saban told me that he is glad that I want to be a part of the Tide family. We talked about how everything was going and just general stuff like that. I told him that I would sign the papers today if they would let me.”
Roberts also got the chance to do some recruiting while he was on campus when he got to hang out with fellow four-star recruit Rashaan Evans.
“I talked to Rashaan Evans for a minute and I was telling him how he should come on board and join me at Alabama. We also talked about our high school season and how we are going to play each other. I think he liked what he saw and we have a good chance with him.”

Matt Elam game visit news:
On Alabama:
quote:
“We were talking about the Notre Dame-USC game and my coaches were too, so we’ll probably be there for that,” Elam said. “The Kentucky-Louisville game I’ll probably be there and the Kentucky-Alabama game. The Alabama-LSU game, but I’m definitely trying to go to all six of them so I can see a home game for them all.”
On Alabama:
quote:
“Alabama what can’t be said about Alabama. National Championships, great coaching staff, that’s what’s keeping them there."
