From Shaun Dion-Hamilton's visit yesterday.
Liked watching practice and enjoyed seeing Ellis Johnson coach. Thought the defense will be fast and disciplined. He said two LB's stuck out to him - McKinzey and Frost, so take that fwiw.
He's going back on Sat and that will be his last visit before he makes a commitment. He's got two camps after this weekend, and then he'll decide. He says his mind isn't made up yet, but he is planning on enrolling early wherever he ends up.
I have to imagine we're the team to beat getting his last two visits within a week.

We always were one of his lead contenders and have a number of his teammates either on roster or being recruited.
Add in the fact that Bama doesn't seem to label him as a take right now and it really seems like there is no other team.

Good news. He looked good on his hudl highlights, but I didn't get to see him shedding blockers to make tackles.
ETA: How many LB's will we take this cycle?

I think 2-3 LB's this cycle.

I would think 3. If we can get Hamilton, Tre Williams and one more - maybe Kevin Mouhan, Korie Rodgers, Deshaun Davis, Rashaan Evans - we'll be in good shape, imo, especially if Owens, Swain and Landrum can contribute at LB. That would put Owens as a Sr in 2014, Swain, Landrum, McKinzey and Frost as Jr's with 3 incoming freshmen for only 2 LB spots.
But if Landrum, Owens and Swain don't work out, we'll need help at LB asap in 2014.

We probably take 3 considering most of our LB depth will be upperclassmen
We likely will try and have around 8 LBs at any given time. No reason to have more and even 8 is a big number considering the needs

4-star LB Rashaan Evans from Auburn (Ala.) High
4-star DE Justin Thornton from Vigor in Mobile, Ala.
4-star DE Dante Sawyer from North Gwinnett in Suwanee, Ga.
4-star WR Demarre Kitt from Sandy Creek in Tyrone, Ga.
4-star DB Evan Berry from Creekside in Fairburn, Ga.
Are all going to JR day at Auburn

I like our chances with all the local guys this year. Rashaan going makes me feel a little better about his recruitment

Phenomenal list of prospects coming to Jr day 2. A few 5* guys and about ten R250 or better overall guys.

6'9 235 lb PF from Notre Dame Prep just committed to Auburn. Fills an immediate need and he has a very nice offer list.

Barbee has recruited a couple classes now with players that have some talent. If he doesn't turn things around at least our next coach will have some talent on the roster to work with

Unless they all transfer.

SDH said this visit today had a different vibe than all the ones before. He said he's glad this was his last visit before be makes his decision. Talked to Lawson, Daniel, etc and they were recruiting him hard.
He's either 100% committing or 100% not. I have to think he's in.

I will ask this here but it isn't about 2013 class, has anyone heard anything on Elijah Daniel's grades? Does he look pretty good to qualify or will it be a last minute thing from him? I had heard Florida fans saying that he was a big grade risk at one point late last year.

Who is the last player we got from St Paul's in Mobile? Have we ever gotten a player from there?
