NO ONE can beat him if you give him that much time to pick your team apart

the BCS is better than leaving it up to the just polls, even with its flaws

You guys do realize Sabans bowl record.........with a month to prepare is nothing to shake a stick at. 8-6
Saban's record at Alabama when he has a minimum of one month to prepare (bowl game and season openers) is 11-1. His bowl record at Bama is now 5-1. I couldn't care less what his bowl record was at MSU or LSU. I know it's damned impressive at Bama.

Bear was better. and Bear had two runs. There was the mid-60's. Then he adapted, got black players, implemented the wishbone, and won some more. He had two runs, Saban just had one.
And when it came to defense, Bear and Oliver were on a par or better than Saban.

Come on man. The same thing that you ay Saban benefits from is the same system in place for every team. So the fact remains he has his teams prepared and in position to take advantage of whatever system is in place. Look there is no reason to find flaws about what Saban is accomplishing. The fact is the man is one of the all time great coaches. Just accept it and move on.

I don't know which is better. Winning championships or listening to idiot fans of other schools try to prove we didn't really win them.
You are making a total arse of yourself.

AND---the playoff format will separate the pretenders even moreso.

How can people think recruiting all this "superior" talent has isn't part of coaching?
Posted on 1/8/13 at 10:38 am to SneakyWaff1es
Mike Shula didn't recruit superior talent at Bama

Its all recruiting.
Is there really a huge gap looking strictly at teaching the x's and o's between the top 5 coaches in the country? I dont think so. Having great athletes makes coaching easier.
Heard a quote from Saban on Mike and Mike this morning. When hired for the Bama job, Saban asked the AD if he thought he hired the best coach in the country, the AD said yes. Saban supposedly said no you didnt, but you did hire the best recruiter.
Not sure how true that is, but it explains exactly the point Im trying to make. Combine teaching, recruiting, and everything else that little bastard does and you have, without a doubt in my mind, the best coach in college football

I'm right there with you. I was trying to make a point with whoever I replied to but apparently sarcasm doesn't work with retards. Or trolls.
Either way Saban took a team with very little talent to the 2008 SECCG undefeated then won the BCS the next year with his recruits. People can talk about Kelly doing more with less at Oregon all they want but part of his job is ensuring he doesn't have to do "more with less."
Nick Saban is the greatest coolege coach I've ever seen in almost every facet of the job. He recruits well, he makes sure they stay out of trouble (shady methods or not), he makes sure they're ready to play and he doesn't make any excuses when they don't perform. He's worth every penny. Any fan of college football is lying to themselves if they think differently.

there are different components to a great coach.
in college, the 3 components would be recruiting, x's and o's and motivating. nfl, it's x's and o's and motivating, but no recruiting.
for the 3 college components, saban is an A+ recruiter, and gets an A for the other 2 components. A guy like chip kelly(or steve spurrier circa fun n gun florida days) would be like an A+++ x's and o's, but only B's or C's for recruiting and motivation. That's why guys like kelly or spurrier stand out as innovators, but a nick saban is just a better all around coach. there are only 3 other college coaches in saban's league, and 2 are in the nfl(carroll and harbaugh), the other is urban meyer.
