It was pretty damn cool to have been at Auburn for three years while Bo was there (he was a grade ahead). Then I got lucky again that my parents moved to Kansas City only blocks from where he lived. Went to many KC games. One time my sister was driving my father's car. She was at a red light when another car pulls up and the guy is waving for her to roll down her window. It was Bo yelling "War Eagle" at her (thanks Auburn bumper sticker!). Wish that had been me!

Watched part of that 30 for 30; Wow, Bo Jackson was/is a freak. Pretty much did whatever the hell he wanted to do.
Except beat A&M.
Seriously though, amazing story.

No doubt, an amazing athlete and probably the greatest of all-time. However, I still say despite all the football highlights, the throw from the wall where he guns down Harold Reynolds in a hit-and-run (one the fastest players in MLB at the time) was the greatest play I've ever seen in any sport. That was inhuman. Nobody should be able to do that. The ball had to travel 300+ feet on a rope and Reynolds was already rounding third when Bo threw the ball to home.

Agreed, phenomenal. So good that Reynolds watched that play over and over after the game.

Man I had almost forgotten what a phenom Bo was. Can't believe he was only 28 when his career ended in football. That throw to home plate from the track in left field was beyond unreal.

Yea that throw was jaw dropping. Almost didn't look real

That was an awesome segment and I forgot how amazing his too brief career was.....just like the guy in the segment, I remember me and my buddies trying to break a baseball bat across our kness like Bo....damn near broke my leg....
One thing that really stood out to me is that Bo is really an angry guy...not bitter....but just angry.....I know he had a fricked up childhood and all but he seems like a really angry 50 year old man all these years later....

Was Tecmo Bo mentioned? Doc is a total flop if not.

Bo could throw a baseball on a from the outfield wall. Ws one of the true 5 tool baseball players I have ever seen in person. HW was a great football, but Bo was as big and faster. Plus Bo was a potential HOF in 2 sports. Dave Windfield was another athlete like Bo in many ways, but smarter in sticking with baseball after college. DW was drafted by MLB, NFL, and nba.

I think you are picking up the wrong signals. I don't think he spends his days basking in anger over the adversity in his life. I don't think you could be more wrong in your assessment of Bo concerning anger.

Loved watching that, brought back a lot of childhood memories. Wasn't an Auburn, Raiders or Royals fan but just loved watching Bo play. The fact he excelled at two major sports blew my mind as a kid, he was the greatest pure athlete I still have ever seen. Also I loved they mentioned the Tecmo Bowl, Bo was just unstoppable, so much so that my friends and I had a 'No Bo' Rule when we played. Also had this bad boy hanging in my room when I was little kid as did a lot of kids during that time.

The dude that was talking about Tecmo Bo said, "Bo had only 1 play. It wouldn't have been fair to give him 2."

Just added this on my to do list on the DVR. Set to record Wednesday.
For those of you who enjoy the Bo one....if you haven't watched the Marcus Dupree, The U, and Pony Excess: Watch them. All three are phenomenal.
The Marcus Dupree one, to me, was sad. I saw a poster above state that every NFL rookie should watch his story. I agree with that. Dupree's story is a perfect example of safeguarding your assets and planning for your financial future in case something goes wrong.

Bo Jackson average a lot more per carry than Walker.
Anyone else read Bo Knows Bo? My dad got it for me and told me this and told me that Bo was the only reason I was permitted to be a Raiders fan in Saints territory. There was a part in there where he talked about playing "Hide and go get it." Boys counted, girls hid. I was like "man, his childhood was way better than mine..."

Bo . Sucks that he had a career ending injury. I have a lot of respect for him .

i agree i was too young when he was at auburn....but that 30 for 30 was awsome. i am a hige bama fan and thought it was really well done and i was highly impressed with Bo. I have always disliked him just cause he was an auburn rb but after watching that....i certainly do respect him. He was amazing. It was kinda sad too that his career was cutt so short. Only player to ever go to nfl pro bowl and also the all mlb allstar game in the same year. Hit a HR in his first at bat in allstar game....was really cool. Just really impressive

yes they did...they kept showing him running in the game up and down sidelind to sideline and the graffic after the TD where the team raises him up with his arm up and says TD bo Jackson....they talked a good bit about how unfair it was to play with the raiders on that game. they said the japs must have been really impressed with bo.

You can't not respect Bo. When he dies, he's going to join the Bear and others the Pantheon of Football Gods who keep cosmic order by preventing OSU from winning championships, causing upsets to ensure the SEC is in the championship game, and manipulating Heisman votes to keep mediocre linebackers from winning.
Bo Jackson- Tecmo Bowl, I love how people bounce off of him.

This was the origin of my trash talking back as a six year old- "I'm running up-A. You know I'm running it. Pick up-A. It doesn't matter, it's Bo."
