8oz Burger Bar- very good burgers
Closed now; but Burger and Beer bar is good in Brickell and the beach for a sports bar burger
I live in Miami and have for 3 1/2 years
The recommendations given by Jumbo are good; In addition
Food: The Pubbelly group has semi-taken over. They have 4 places and are opening a steakhouse next year. I have only been to 1 of them, but it is my favorite restaurant here. Just look up pubbelly 3 are close together and I've been to the other one on 8th and Alton
The Dutch is a good eclectic place to eat
Michael's Genuine in Midtown is legit
Red the steakhouse/Prime 112 - expensive but great steakhouses
Brunch:
Morgans in Midtown is good, as is Sugarcane (good for dinner too actually)
Drinking:
Depends on your mood, if dive bar type, go to the Grove where all the 18 year olds hang out. If going big, go to LIV or Bamboo or Louis or Wall on the beach. In between, go to Brickell and you can find something to your liking.
Gameday - they suck honestly; there is a walmart close to the stadium to get stuff if you need it. They don't like opening the gates early but I think they will b/c of the magnitude of the game
If you need anything else I'll check in periodically on this thread

Since you are a Bama fan, there are no Jack's Hamburger joints, but there are plenty of McDonalds.

sure thing Mobtro..... Since you are a Bama fan, there are no Jack's Hamburger joints, but there are plenty of McDonalds. There are also an abundance of Walmart's and Target's for your shopping enjoyment.
After you buy your $15 ticket to the BBVA Compass Bowl, you should have just enough to buy a hot dog combo. I know you fat asses like that snack bar fine dining.

All be damned Mobtro, you fricktard.....I can't believe we have to drive into that piece of shite trailer trash mother frickin State known as Alabama to watch a bowl game in the fricking ghettos of Birmingham.
With that said, go frick yourself.

Just to add to the good eats recommendations...
Pork and Beans on 63nd street and west 12th (in Liberty City, just north of Miami and on your way to the stadium).
Absolutely a must.
One of a kind ambiance. Ton of historical significance. Unforgettable experience.
Every gump (bama fan) should really check it out. Come hungry and if you have any trouble finding it, just ask one of the locals and give em a Roll Tide!

I know the 1000's of Saints fans who made the trip down there for the Super Bowl bitched that the setup is not good for tailgating, just the opposite, the cops were very much anti tailgating. Course, some of these same fans were booted out of nearby camping grounds for breaking the State law against booze & porn on state property. Sad but funny true story. Strongly suggest no teabagging in case that lesson has not been learned. And watch out for all those normal looking priests ( I am Catholic )as they have some of the worst tempers I have ever experienced in my 2 trips to SouthBend.

If you're looking for some good seafood, hit up Naomi's off NW 71st Street. Fried Grouper is the tits.
