i didnt go through each comment in this thread, but i though i saw somewhere on here about the 4 team divisons. i kind of like it. i would assume that Alabama would be one of our permanents unless Alabama did not want that then it probably wouldnt happen.

Big 10 might expand again, but I think the SEC will take the wait and see approach. Would love to add Virginia Tech, but not N.C. State. Unfortunately, Duke and UNC love ruling the ACC together with their basketball power. They'd never go for a move to the SEC without one another, unless the ACC collapsed. I'd even rather Duke and UNC instead of Va. Tech and N.C. State.

It was perfect at 12, I can handle 14. But 16?
Then again it is money over everything.

Geographically, the best set up would be:
NE: Tenn, UK, VT, NCState
SE: USCe, UGA, UF, AU
NW: Mizzou, Arky,Ole Miss, Vandy
SW: Bama, LSU, MSU, aTm

I doubt they separate Bama and Auburn

If this ever happens, they should put Bama, Auburn, Tenn, and UGA all in one pod. They can play every year and live happily ever after.
My question is if you got to 4 divisions, do you have to have a 4 team playoff for the conference championship? How else would you determine a champ b/c I don't see the ncaa allowing conference semis then a conference championship game?

Then went on to say the ACC would possibly lose Florida State and Clemson to the Big 12.
Why wouldn't the SEC go for these two schools?
Is it about expanding geographically or getting better sports programs?

How are we going to play an entire season. Play 2 games for the SEC Championship and then after all that to go into a playoff. All of a sudden there are 16 games.
This doesn't work for students guys. The NFL players struggle with a 16 game season.

OMG, were you bitching about Bama playing UT every year when Manning was there or right after he left and they won a NC?
He probably could have,,, Manning was there while Spurrier was at UF (Spurrier lost a total of 6 games in the 4 years Manning was at UT).
Posted on 12/3/12 at 7:29 pm to drfeelgood
Give Bama VaTech as their every year opponent...Or, bring in Clemson or Florida State and make them Bama's every year opponent. Damn Bama with all their preferential treatment.

I could be ok with that. Three "division games", four "West" games agaisnt the other West pod, one permenant "East" opponent game.
There's no point in having 4 divisions if you play all the teams in one of the other divisions. They may as well be in your division. With the Alabama schools set on keeping their rivalries, it will probably be 3 games in your division, one that rotates through each of the other divisions, and 2 permanent opponents. Guess what... Our permanent opponents will likely be Bama and UF. #fair

the B1G whatever they want to call themselves has reached out to Georgia Tech and Virginia.
The problem with the rumors sending NCSU to the SEC is the GA Tech part. UNC is the school system in that state and will not let NCSU leave the Tobacco Road crew unless it's the Tar Heels heading to the B1G...which could very well happen if they think the ACC is doomed.

Um, no...the Pac-12 has no interest in private schools much less Christian ones.

SEC will rob OU and OSU from Big 12
SEC wants one team from states they are not currently entrenched. They would only take OU or OSU (OU preferred).

Clay Travis has been saying this on OKTC for months now.

The SEC doesn't need a school from a state in which they already a school. THE goal is to add two schools from two new states to make more money from cable subscribers for the SEC Network which is coming sooner than later.

What if you played the semi final sec game as the 12th game of the season? Every team from West A would play the same seed from West B. The same would go for the 2 East divisions. Only the games involving the 1 seeds would be semi finals for the SEC. Home team would alternate between divisions very year. I know it is not likely, but this would be a way to cut down on the number of games.
