Even if Dial is suspended it wont help your cause.

Now, somebody get me a definition of a "defenseless player" so we can sort this out.
Here are the actual COLLEGE rules on what defines a "defenseless player"
Rule 2 Section 27 Article 14
a. A player in the act of or just after throwing a pass.
b. A receiver whose focus is on catching a pass.
c. A kicker in the act of or just after kicking a ball.
d. A kick returner whose focus is on catching or recovering a kick in the
air.
e. A player on the ground at the end of a play.
f. A player obviously out of the play.

No. Murray was at most 8 yards IN FRONT of the developing play. He was definitely blockable. Try again.
Exactly. QBs are often the last player to make a tackle on a pick. He was stupid to let up.

I'm a true football fan, and I have absolutely no problem with it. Its football.

And you KNOW you'd feel the same way if this were AJM getting hit in the same way. Take of the Crimson glasses and see it for what it is.
If McCarron got hit IN THE EXACT SAME WAY I'd laugh my arse off because he clearly got the shite knocked out of him on a clean play, just as I didn't complain when McElroy got DDTd in the Auburn game of '10.
Its unreal how many vaginas there are on this board, but I expect its mainly due to it being a Bama player involved.

So all of you Gumps would be perfectly ok with this hit on AJM....in the same situation?
What if this hit would have resulted in AJM being seriously injured and keep him from the NCG?
It was boderline legal (huge gray area IMO) and cheap as hell.

legal play that was unnecessary
That last word there is kinda key. Unnecessary. No need to hit a QB or any player like that. I guarantee if they would have hit AJM like that flags would have come out. No question.

I guess there's no response since you said "/thread". lol
It was cheap. It was also legal.

Legal play is legal.
DOnt like the rules, start your own two-hand touch league where no one gets hit and everyone gets a ribbon.

OK how? Obviously it would suck if AJ couldn't play in the title game. But it's football, people get hurt. Certainly wouldn't be crying for blood over a legal play like you people who didn't even have a team in the game. I haven't seen one damn UGA fan in this thread bitching about the hit.

It's easy for us to call it unnecessary. We know that the ball carrier was tackled immediately after Dial's block therefore Murray would not have been involved in the tackle. Dial did not and could not have known this. The play was live and he has to assume that the ball carrier will make someone miss which would have put Murray very much in play to make the tackle.

i'm curious, do people think the refs wanted bama to win? is that why there was no call? serious question.

Murry needs to learn to run not watch when he throws an INT. I doubt he makes that mistake again.
