It is laughable at best. The championship will basically be a bye week for either Bama or Georgia. There are 5 sec teams that would roll the Irish. Espn has to hype it up for viewership.

If they win Holtz will have a heart attack then retire from ESPN.

Doubt it, solely because they're Notre Dame. They just got out of a 9 bowl game losing streak. They're going to lose regardless of who they play since Notre Dame doesn't win bowl games.

I agree. ND cannot beat either Bama or UGA.

ND is a great team that knows how to win, but I don't believe they have the horses to beat Alabama. They lack the gimmicky offense of an Oregon or Texas A&M, and are a great match for Alabama.
Now having said that, I'm not sold on Georgia's ability to beat ND. I'm not even sure they're really the best in the East. If South Carolina had Georgia's schedule, they'd be on the way to an SEC Championship game. Cross-divisional games shouldn't affect divisional standing.

They are like really good and stuff. Their qb number five has got way way better since the first game and the other number five is good at tackling big players. Jj McCarin will probably throw it bad too since noter daeme has good d players. I don't really know anything about the Georgia but they would lose too just cuz
Give this man a medal.

Plus, Lou Holtz says they're going to win
On a side note, Jesse Palmer and David Pollacks homer-ism towards their alma-maters really stood out tonight during the BCS countdown. I could tell Rece Davis really wanted to sunshine pump Bama more, but he stayed professional as always and gave some love to Oregon instead. Well done Rece and that is why you HOST these shows and clowns like Holtz, Pollack, and Palmer don't.

This is as straight to the point as I can make it. I like Notre Dame-I'm proud to say although I do not bleed blue and gold, I do pull for them. I truly believe on any given day in a one time match up, any team can beat the other. With that being said, Its possible Notre Dame could be "fools gold" in the NC. They have played some decent teams and some not so but they haven't played any of the teams of the caliber of Bama or UGA. In fact, I think 5 teams from the SEC would give them all they could handle. I went to the Wake Forest game. It was senior day and the stadium was pumped. Notre Dame beat them soundly at home 38-0. Vandy beat Wake Forest at their place 55-21!!. Some of the Wake Forest players were saying how Vandy's speed and power matched Notre Dame's. It will be interesting!!
