Defenses will adjust, yes. But what happens when JFF is able to read defenses BEFORE the snap. You think this offense is up tempo now? Wait until there is no "check with me" before every play. This offense still has training wheels attached to it. That is what is scary!!

Next year is our best shot. 8 home games, Auburn and Arkie wallowing in suck, Vandy and Mizzu from the East and only LSU in Baton Rouge as a huge roadblock given that we showed we can beat Saban.
We have as easy an SEC schedule as you can ask for next season. Anything less than 11 regular season wins should be considered at least a mild dissapointment.

I think Manziel will get attacked with more blitzes next year. Alabama didn't have success against him until they pinned their ears back and forced the issue. The first quarter Alabama just rushed 3 or 4 and played a lot of zone, Manziel basically ran around until shite broke down in the back end and it bit Bama in the arse.

I sure hope so. Manziel has 11 passing TDs, 8 rushing TDs and one INT against the blitz this year.
Please, blitz the frick out of him.

But what happens when JFF
The biggest thing I noticed about JFF in UA game is that he set his feet and threw long outs fairly well, which I don't think he did too much before. He'll get better, for sure.

Am I crazy to think that this year will be Manziel's best year?? I mean knowing how he runs the offense, wouldn't the best d-coordinators know how to better attack his style of play?
I'm kind of surprised more teams didn't try to copy what LSU did to JFF. Keep him in the pocket and make him beat you with his arm. He only ran for like 30 yards and had 3 or 4 ints. He's clearly a better QB when he has room to run and extend plays with his legs.

I am speaking in terms of how Alabama schemed him. Sitting back and playing containment sure as frick didn't work. When they brought extra pressure from the DBs/LBs they were more effective. Sure it's risky, but better to take chances than just LET Manziel beat you.

EVERY team but Alabama tried to copy what LSU (and Florida before them) did. Nobody but them had the athletes to make it work.
If Manziel is faster than every player on your defense, it doesnt matter what you do.
The thing is that against Florida, Manziel was making his first start and was scared to death to throw. Against LSU, his receivers screwed the pooch and gave LSU gift INTs. Everyone else got lit the frick up.

You'd make a good ______ fan, taking to the SEC like a duck to water.

Yeah, what's the old saying? Nobody ever wins a game, somebody loses it.

Now, now, I made it blank for a reason. For some reason the most important stat, points, seems secondary.

UF will be a force to contend with for the future, Boom has done so much in just two years....taking a finesse spread offense and installing a power pro type run game. He is a coach that is defensive minded and has the players all buying in....very down to earth. The SEC is in for a rude awakening...but lets face it, the SEC is getting tougher and going through the SEC gauntlet unscatched will be difficult.
Manziel is a fantastic college qb and Id vote him for Heisman winnner in a heartbeat. But Heisman winners dont always pan out in the pros. UF's Wuerffel was drafted in 4th round as I recall the year he won the Heisman. I just dont think Manziel has the tangibles to be pro qb, the height and arm strength arent there.

I think it will be too, but for different reasons.
I think that Manziel's numbers will drop with the emergence of Brandon Williams at RB next year. If you noticed last night, #2 didn't score his first touchdown until after we took a 21-0 lead. Christine Michael went nuts in the first quarter. Brandon Williams is better than Michael and will only be a sophomore next year.
