stretch between Mobile, Al and Montgomery, Al as the most boring stretch

Agreed. I was hired by Bellsouth out of college and used to make the trip from Atlanta to Lafayette quite often. I had to drive by myself many times so I'd stay on my cell phone for as much of the trip as possible. This was the only stretch that didn't have cell service.

I said it was boring not that it didn't have cell service. I've literally driven this stretch of I-65 between Mobile and Greenville/Montgomery probably 200 times and I've never had cell service issues. As boring as this stretch is it at least has pretty rolling pastures just south of Montgomery (part of the Black Belt land feature) and the "Dolly Parton" bridge just north of Mobile is kinda neat.

The interstate stretch between Opelousas (sp?) and Shreveport was far worse though. At least with I-65 between Montgomery and Mobile there is a lot more traffic and there is a little bit of interesting rolling terrain and pretty forrest. That particular stretch in LA is flat looking flood plain with little traffic to keep you company. It was like West Texas with a few more trees in the distance.
