LSU has gotten weaker at several key positions from 2011 to 2012

Presently only 8 starters from the 2011 team start for the 2012 Tigers.
Almost all the "new" starters are a step down in talent and/or experience, with the possible exception of LG Collins and RB Hill.
QB Lee/Jefferson > Mett
RB Ware/Ford < Hill
FB Copeland = Copeland
WR Randle > Beckham
WR Beckham > Landry
WR Shephard = WR Shephard
TE Peterson > TE Clement
LT Faulk > LT Dworaczyk
LG Hebert < LG Collins
C Lonergan = C Lonergan
RG Blackwell > RG Turner
RT Hurst > RT Alexander
Defense
FS Eric Reid = FS Eric Reid
SS Taylor > SS Loston
CB Claiborne > CB Simon
CB Mathieu > CB Collins
LB Baker > LB Barrow
LB Minter = LB Minter
LB Francois = LB Muncie
DE Mingo = DE Mingo
DT Logan = DT Logan
DT Brockers > DT Johnson
DE Montgom = DE Montgom
You simply can't lose phenomenal players like Claiborne, Mathieu, Brockers, Faulk and Randle without a corresponding drop in production from those units. You lost the 6th (Mo) and 14th (Brockers) picks in the first round of the NFL draft. Randle was a second round pick. Faulk and Mathieu would have been drafted this year.
The 2011 LSU team was far more talented than the 2012 team that is currently taking the field for the Tigers. LSU lost its playmakers on Offense and Defense. It should not be a shock that the team has not been nearly so dominant. LSU lost guys that caused a lot of turnovers and scored a lot of Tds.
While nearly every poster said that Mett would be an upgrade at QB, he has not been nearly as efficient as Lee (who threw for more Tds and fewer Ints).
If last year's talented group lost 21-0 in the BCSCG, how will this year's less talented group fare?

Probably lose 100-0. Sucks for us that Bama returned all 22 starters.

Agreed
Even though LSU fans will tell you they don't regroup, they reload.....or something to that tune

You should take a break from starting threads

I wouldn't be too quick to say that. He part of the reason why our running game has improved over the last 2 games

This may be true, but Jalen has held his own this year.

Major wash here.

Our offense is definitely worse.
Our defense is about as good.
Our S/T has been a mixed bag.
We add the #1 homefield advantage in College Football and Bama is not quite as good as they were last year either. We'll see what happens. Very few LSU fans are going all out and predicting victory but damn the "LSU is way worse this year" crowd has gone way overboard.

What do you plan to do with all of your free time after Saturday when you have no reason to start 5 threads about LSU every day?

Wrong we are Better on Def this year. All our Dline is projected to go in the first round. Mont and Mingo top5 picks. Jalin Mills is a better cover guy then TM7 much better. Loston is much better then taylor and played alot last year.
On O Hill is the best back that LSU has had in years.

I like what you did here.
Should be
Randle > Landry
Beckham = Beckham
Shep = Shep
But that wouldn't fit your argument now would it.

the LSU Tight End doesn't mean shite. We hardly use them as anything but a blocker.

Push. Brockers was good, but Johnson is an animal.

This is retarded.
quote:
LB Francois > LB Muncie
This is super retarded. A) Muncie is better than Francois ever was, B) Muncie doesn't start any more since he's still putting weight back on from the virus he got, C) Lamar Louis is better than Francois was.
quote:
LG Hebert = LG Collins
Collins is head and shoulders better than TBob
And you also assume that all the returning players did not improve at all. Logan this is better than Logan last year, etc.

I know it's LSU-Bama week and all but holy shite, you've taken the phrase "We're in your head" to a new high.

We are playing many freshman who are playing very well. We are reloading. We lost a lot of talent from last years team. Yet we're still in position to compete for the NC. We've currently got a recruiting class ranked somewhere in the top 5. How's that a bad thing?

Im guessing it's impossible for players to get better after a year of experience. Just retarded.
