I really liked it too.
I liked the way they presented Ole Miss

I see just as much racism in blacks' unequivocal support of Obama because he is black and resistance of Romney for being white as I do in whites voting against Obama.

Wright Thompson seemed like a pussy to me. Other than that it was good. It looked like some people in the Grove were eyeballing him.
I do believe that this would have been a lot better if he would have confronted that family member that he HAD to tell us about.

I thought it was really good. I didn't know the part about all of the ole miss students except four going to fight in the war and being killed or injured at Gettysburg. It's a great reason to remember and respect them by being the rebels.
They may have been fighting on what is now easily seen as the wrong side of the war, but that doesn't make their sacrifice any less.
Those opposing Dixie, the flag, and colonel reb are silly. Those things can be symbols and reminders of the history of
what was both right and wrong with the south at the same time.
Good 30 for 30 though.
Fair and solid assessment

It's the reason everyone is all dressed up for games, it's a little memorial to them.

No one opposes Dixie...the South Will Rise Again is the controversy. Dixie is still played by the band. The flag is one of those things you have to understand what that symbol has come to represent, Col. Reb to some degree too. The problem isn't it being a remembrance of the past, it's that it has become a symbol of racism right or wrong.

Maybe because he was strolling through with a full camera crew? How the frick is he a carpetbagger just because he went to school in Missouri? And if you really want to get technical, his college state that we're basing the moniker on fought on both sides of the War.

Food for thought, since they seemed to be looking to reform all the ole miss traditions such as: flag, mascot, song, school name etc... Why isnt our mascot ever scrutinized? Aren't we named after a group of confederate soldiers? I guess we can hide behind the animal scapegoat.
i said this in a thread a long time ago....the bengal tiger in louisiana military history predates the civil war, bled in the skies over china, served at anzio, took casualties in iraq...
on top of that our first president was william t. sherman and we had been integrated comparatively peacefully several years before

He's not - Thompson is a Mississippitard.
He likes Mississippi more than Bundy.
