i mean if it's a bunch of lsu posters crying on a website saying "auburn went from the diriest program ever to the dirtiest program ever" then i say fAUck yea.

Really, the PR hit will be huge if Auburn hires Petrino. If say, UT, hired him, there would be some blowback for a year, then if he wins, all will be forgotten.
Auburn hires him, we'll hear about Jetgate for as long as he's there if not longer. It won't rest. Coming on the heels of the Cam Newton saga, the robbery 4 and all the other bad press they've gotten the past two years, I'd say it isn't worth it.
Auburn is a good job. They can hire a good coach. Petrino is a good coach, but not the right fit.
If they could land Smart, it would be a home run, IMO.
Taggart would be a good hire.
Jimbo ain't coming.
After that, go for Franklin.
