You guys are putting a ton of effort in to this argument. Yall must really want Fisher to stay put.

I would be too. Fisher is a hell of a coach and I hope AU gets him.

that's what I'm saying. Jimbo is just another Tubs.

I'm really not sure why he gets all the hype. Bowden got pushed out so that Jimbo could have full control to lead FSU to a championship and all he's done is manage to choke every year. He is probably better than Chizik, but he isn't a phenomenal hire imo.

His title team last year lost to a very overrated OU early. This year his title team lost to NC State (who lost to a pretty bad Tennessee squad). Maybe, the media is just over hyping FSU and they are just an average team losing to average teams, but that is just as bad as a title contender losing to average teams (good team losing to inferior teams = bad coaching; average team losing to average teams = average coaching).

Exact reason why he will stay put. He has it easy over there. Why take the challenge of getting your arse kicked every week when you don't have to.

Eh. I disagree. IMO, most HC like to have their ego stroked. A MNC at a SECw school is more impressive than a MNC at an ACC school.

When it comes to recruiting, just go forward knowing the following truism:

Florida > not Florida all day every day.

Hmm, I wonder why we don't see coaches like Chip Kelly leave their schools to join the SEC. Or why Lane Kiffin jumped ship at Tennessee to go to USC.

Coaches like being competitive, but they also like winning. And making it to the NC game. Fisher's better option to get their is with FSU.

The state of florida, yes, but just because you are a school in florida doesnt mean you have better recruiting

A MNC at any school > 0 because you play in the toughest conference in the country.

Plenty of coaches would jump at the chance to coach in the SEC and Auburn, but not when they are already at a team who could easily become a national title contender.

When was the last time the ACC made it to the BCSCG? and when was the last time Auburn or an SEC team did?

25-9 and a loss to a team that UT can actually beat (has lost to the Wolfpack 2 out of 3 times)? Hell Bobby Bowden had a better win percentage than that even with all the vacating of wins he had to do and him being officially dead since 2000.

Hmm IDK. Fisher is certainly serviceable as a coach. Greatness, not as of yet.

If you get him you better pray you also get the best Stoops to come with him.

Jimbo Fisher is just Mark Richt 2.0

He'll give Auburn some good years (borderline great), very few truly bad years, and a couple of mediocre years mixed in. However, at least once a season he'll shite the bed and lose a game he shouldn't or get the brakes beat off of him in a big, nationally televised game. He'll never get over the hump to lead a great team but he'll do enough to keep the big money boosters satiated while the masses seethe.

You realize schools not in the state of Florida are still legally able to recruit kids IN the state of Florida?

Not to mention their top 4 recruits from the 2012 class were all out of the state of FL. And 7 of the top 8 were out of state. Hell, only 5 of their 19 commits were from in state.

now you're going to blow peoples minds. Forcing auburn fans to justify the quality of a coach it's speculated we're going after who wouldn't leave to come to auburn...DAMN YOU.

We're gonna have to agree to disagree

I don't see an ACC school wining a BCSNCG anytime soon.

Well if he is only serviceable, then it shouldnt be much of a pipe dream and maybe FSU wont put up as much of a fight...since he cant beat NC St.

Most good coaches are Mark Richt by that definition. Look at who has won titles. Lot of the same names. There are tiers in college football. There are more Mark Richts than Urban Meyers in college football and that is just the way it is.

You are obviously mixing your arguments (because some people say something doesn't mean I said it and I certainly don't believe it). I think AU could get Fish if they want him. Just about price. I think Fish would be dumb to leave the best recruiting state in the country to go battle Saban for recruits and put up with the psycho fans that the IB rivalry produces.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with him coaching there for 6 years. Or basically being a west coast guy since he graduated high school in Minnesota.

Has everything to do with wanting to go to an easier conference.
