UT will have more passing yards against y'all than they did us.

That may be the case. They won't run on us, like they did on Mississippi State.

They play us at home, and they played you in Starkville.

Of course they would. They also thought that the '10 Bama team could take on the South Carolina Panthers. What's your point?
Is that some conglomerate between The University of South Carolina and the NFL's Carolina Panthers?

MSU fans just don't know what it is like to be good, we should just shut up and let them act like they've won anything in this conference.

Are you lost on the fact that Tennessee may be down quickly, abandoning the running game out of desperation and lack of success? This is a common theme in football.

Agreed.

Great. That'll give your unbelievable secondary plenty of opportunities to prove their worth.

God forbid those highly ranked prospects develop, and live up to their billing, under someone who sends them in droves to the NFL. Couple that with their statistical success this year, why shouldn't we believe they are the best in the SEC?
Posted on 10/16/12 at 8:12 pm to CapstoneGrad06
Because they aren't.

What is MSU''s pass D ranking anyway?

I'm sure you can look that up on your own, but it really doesn't apply.

The biggest problem is that every time any position is discussed, Alabama fans just assume that their guy is the best in the land just because he's playing at Bama, when the opposite can often be true - If a QB never gets pressure and has a stud RB in the backfield, of course his numbers will be fantastic. If your run defense is impenetrable, of course your secondary will get more chances to deflect passes.
I understand that Bama recruits better than anyone, so by default they will have many of the best - but due to the sheer volume of players in college football, and the inability to fully scout each player, Bama doesn't get the best 22 players out of highschool in the way that UK basketball does.
tl;dr - have some perspective

Statistics for both Dee Milliner, individually, and Alabama, as a unit, seem to back up the OP's claim. Yet every State fan was on this like "white on rice".
Posted on 10/16/12 at 8:26 pm to CapstoneGrad06
So Milliner's stats are better than Banks' stats?
Posted on 10/16/12 at 8:47 pm to Slippery Slope
banks is hands down better than milliner this is the stupidest discussion ever.
banks can actually backpaddle for once lol, something i have not seen millner do in 2 years.
banks has 3 picks and a forced fumble
milliner has 2 picks with the best front 7 in college football in front of him.
this isn't even a fricking discussion. banks is legit. millier is good but not on banks level.

It absolutely applies when comparing pass defenses. Maybe not if MSU is within 20 spots of Alabama in pass defense, but if not, then MSU's pass defense is definitely not better than ours, and there is little that you can argue against that.

Oh good, an arkansas fan has come with his vast knowledge of what a good defense or defensive player looks like. Let's all take notes.
