Jimbo can't win at FSfrickingU. They can keep him.

Jimbo passed on the job before Chizik got it, I highly doubt he leaves what he has at FSU now

I'd love to get D.Craig on the staff if possible

I'd put money down that he will be at least in contact with Auburn and will be considered a candidate

Peach Bowl and Champs Bowl.

This was my first thought when I read the rumors about Jimbo.

I sort of hate that bastard as of late, though

Other than Petrino, I'd like having a coach or coaches I hate on staff.
It's better when they're our pricks

That seems to be true. Would you be on board with Strong?

Can someone explain the infatuation with Charlie Strong to me? Louisville was barely bowl eligible his first two years, and now they're having a good year simply by being the only decent team in that joke of a conference that is the Big East. They barely beat Pitt today.
I understand it takes a couple years to build your program, but it's REALLY hard to gauge how good of a coach Strong is simply because the Big East is so bad.
My guess? Louisville wins the Big East by default and gets smashed by whoever they play in the BCS bowl (lulz).
We don't need to take any chances on projects or guys we "think" can win here. We need a proven coach.
Some candidates I like (in no particular order): Petrino, Gary Patterson, and Paul Rhoads (guy's one heck of a coach, doing wonders at Iowa St.)

Go ahead and add Butch Davis to the "Crazy/What the Hell are you thinking" options...
When this board melts.. it melts to the fricking ground and nothing short of it. God this is board is embarrassing right now.

I honestly have no idea who we would hire. Unless we park the brinks truck on Gruden's lawn, I have no idea what a home run hire would look like. JJ's took the short cut last time around and hired a bunch of recruiters because he thought that would level the playing field with Saban, but he neglected the x's and o's part of the game. It has really blown up in his "money is no object" face.

I've seen a lot of underwhelming names pop up. I want to point out that just because we're at the bottom doesn't mean shooting for the middle is acceptable. A lot of these coaches seem like good options because we're neck deep in suck right now.

Another problem: We'll be going head to head against Arkansas and Tennessee for those few top coaches.
It looks bleak right now

Good chance Texas will be open as well.
