Mizzoukills:
The Farmers Market is fantastic -- but it is all reserved for Gamecock Club donors. No space for visiting fans, although you can certainly walk through it and visit with the tailgating Gamecock fans. They also have the Gamecock Village over there which has bouncy castles and other games for kids.
The other main location is the Fairgrounds. Last year it was not quite full, so they may have some day passes you can buy at the gate if you arrive early (Gate 6). If interested, you should check with the Gamecock club first. I have a reserved spot in the fairgrounds -- not enough priority points to get into the Farmers Market.
Otherwise, there are a number of private lots fairly close where you can park for $20 or so. You can do your own tailgate, or simply walk through the fairgrounds or farmers market. If you're friendly, you'll be invited to tailgate with the locals. There are no bars near the stadium -- which is about 2 miles from campus and downtown Columbia -- so tailgating is your only option.
You should try to be in your seat by 3:00 p.m. to catch the pregame. It's worth it. Before you go in, take some time to check out the row of cockabooses on the south side of the stadium. It's worth a picture opportunity and you might talk your way into one. They are nice.
