We need to make changes. Close the MSC on gameday or something. Makes us look like shitty fricking fricks when we treat opposing fans like they are children. Close the MSC on gameday and we don't have to "politely" put opposing fans in their place.

even if you just watched it on tv... so stadium, atmosphere, tailgating, campus, fan experiences etc.
That place is amazing. Those chants and singing send chills up a persons spine. Seem cult like. I'd hate to be an opposing player there I truly believe aTm have one of the best fan bases in the SEC considering they don't have much of a championship history.

Oh Lord, you've been in the SEC what, 20 years? Piss bombs and all? And you're taking issue with Aggies ASKING someone to remove their hat in a fricking war memorial?
I have no problem with politely asking. But you're fricking high if you don't think there aren't overzealous Aggies that don't yell at people who DON'T take off their hats, or who might have walked on the grass. That's indisputable. You don't respect the dead by disrespecting the living.

Nobody's arguing that, but we WILL call you an a-hole for defending that behavior, whether it's westboro baptist church or keeping your hat on in the MSC.
This is the ironic point I brought up in the first place.
I'm not the one who defended that behavior. Soldiers do. Those same soldiers who died, who you guys are so gung-ho about respecting, DIED defending our right to exhibit behavior such as those who might not want to take their hats off. So you're basically saying that their sacrifice wasn't worth anything, because you're going to yell at people who don't "respect" them.

Maybe we're all just masochists Thanks for the compliment, though!

I disagree.
I think we should take the responsibility to bark at the preemptive a-hole Ag if need be. But the new facility is great, and the amount of gear bought in the bookstore on game day is substantial.
I've personally never asked someone to remove his or her lid. I do think it comes across as "holier than thou," but maybe I'm just self-conscious.
There's a lot of great stuff in the MSC that an objective visitor would probably like to learn about - don't want to close something that speaks so much to who we are.
In sum, don't be a dickhead if you feel compelled to ask someone to remove his or her hat.

Not butthurt, just explaining. A&M did the same tactic to OSU last year so we aren't innocent.
See how gassed we looked in that game, and Gundy even commenting that they were the better conditioned team leads me to believe that the Aggie defense was just out of shape.

I'd say just make it an Aggie code of conduct or whatever at Fish camp/T-camp. "Never, under any circumstances, will we tolerate yelling at other human beings because they were unaware of something and didn't know better."
It makes you look bad. And you guys KNOW if it became a point of emphasis the hive-mind mentality would put an end to it in no time.

I agree with you. Need to close the place on gameday. Maybe we could close off the part where they keep the Medals of Honor and at that point, make everyone remove hats there.

Sorry someone knocked your hat off your head. I really find that hard to believe, but I'm sure you encountered a roid-raging Aggie with an Arky ax to grind.

People always complain about "not being able to wear hats" and the alleged "sacred grass" as if complying with the very simple rules regarding the very limited area is some kind of insurmountable, ambiguous feat.
If the MSC was simply a memorial to fallen soldiers, and not an Aggie memorial, no one would complain about the rules. It is an immature disrespect for Texas A&M that causes people to freak out. If anyone over the age of 30 walks past to the monuments of all the Aggies with Congressional Medals of Honor, and feels like they shouldn't respect the rules of the memorial, than they are probably just bad people.

The overzealous Aggies are roundly criticized for their behavior. We pride ourselves on being hospitable, and that shite is unacceptable. By the same token, though, quit acting like yelling at people in the MSC for their hats being on is a widespread, rampant occurrence. It's not, most of the time it's folks politely asking.

I notice you conveniently avoided the point I made about playing nice in other people's houses. When I go to any other campus in America, I respect the traditions of the host school, even if they might seem ridiculous from my perspective. You're not an a-hole for exercising your freedoms--you're an a-hole for being impolite. Is it against the law? No. That's not what people are implying. Is it rude and really uncalled for? Yes.
Bottom line:
--Aggies should be polite and not yell at folks who have no clue of our various traditions (usually not a problem--we routinely are rated as one of the friendliest gameday hosts in the country)
--People should be respectful of other campuses traditions. Yeah, it's ok to poke fun at what makes another fanbase tick, but in practice, it's just needless to upset folks simply because you can.
ETA: Gotta head out the door, so I'm done for awhile. I'm sure we'll go around the horn about this next time it comes up, though, ocelot

Could the aggies in here be
A)more oblivious to obvious trolling
B)more like apologetic girls
?
And Ive been very clear. Injured players were given the benefit of the doubt, no noise from the crowd, and applause when they were ok. Until we got to doubt digits, the players were back in the field in no time, and hopped up to walk off the field when they were previously in the throws of death.
And its weird, your offense must have shown up to the S&C program while the D stayed home. Really unusual. Especially since we obviously never moved the ball and only had three and outs so the D must have had plenty of rest too.

Just wait until you encounter uncover nazis in the stands during their yells.
Sounds like the tailgating has improved. It was awful when I was there for school.

I'm giving this dude the benefit of the doubt. Just like I did with the cramping players.

This isn't true at all. Everyone steps off the bleachers and is silent. This was the case for the first six or so injuries. The only time it started was when it happened back to back and we were getting momentum and moving down the field; the player after being down for thirty seconds ran off the field and acted like nothing happened.

You should have given up several posts before this one. You look like a giant vagina in this thread.
