Unlikely.

He played in more than 25% of the first 3 games, which is the injury redshirt requirement IIRC

I thought the requirement was 25% of the season, which would be 3 games?

A special case involves the eligibility of a player who loses the majority of a season to injury. Popularly known as a medical redshirt, a hardship waiver may be granted an athlete who appears in fewer than 30% of his or her team's competitions (with none coming after the midway point of the season), then suffers a season-ending injury. A player who is granted such a waiver is treated for the purposes of his or her eligibility as though he or she had not competed in that season

quote:

For a student-athlete to receive a Medical Hardship Waiver per Bylaw 14.2.4, the following four conditions must be met:
The student-athlete may not have participated in more than two contests or dates of competition or 20 percent of the team's completed contests/dates of competition.
The injury or illness must occur prior to the completion of the first half of the season.
The injury or illness does not have to occur during practice/competition, but it must be incapacitating.
Appropriate medical documentation must exist and be provided.
All percentages are calculated according to contests or dates of competition

It seems like we went two years without getting an Olineman on campus. IMO, you should be getting at least (2) OL and (2) DL every single class.

Once balanced and established, you essentially want to sign another team each class. 4 or 5 linemen on offense and 3 or 4 on defense with 3 or 4 DBs, 3 or 4 linebackers, etc.

Our biggest problems started toward the end of t
tubs' reign and continued with a lot of attrition under Chizik. We are still way our of whack class wise and there won't be a good fix without running players off and forcing the balance.

Signing another team each year and getting a P/K every 3 years would be awesome. It would leave room for us to add can't miss talent too with the extra 3 slots.

Why couldn't the Chiz do that again?/not leave us with barren depth

Chizik was doing a good job of getting the roster balanced again, attrition killed him and a lot of it wasn't his fault. One offensive line class lost gaydon, Coleman, Eric Mack and Ed Christian. That lead to a 7 linemen class a couple years later. The defensive line is pretty balanced now and is actually in good shape class-wise, just under developed. Linebacker is the biggest gap we have and most of that is due to Saban signing all he wants each year.

I don't see us getting in the race for Connor or Moore. Both will go to one of the in-state schools

That's been in the works for a long time. Doesn't have anything to do with Melvin Smith

Any surprise recruits out there for us this year? Perhaps an under the radar guy or a highly rated 4-5* that no one has mentioned us for?

I still believe that this class can be a special one for Auburn. A class that could really help turn some of this shite around.

Mackenzie Alexander is very, very interested in AU. Loves Harbison and Smith. Was actually set to OV to MSU. Not sure if he will now or not? Was adamant about loving Harbison too and Clemson was thought to be his leader.

Actually I wouldn't mind getting the twins as a package deal to Auburn. One is a corner and the other a safety and both are pretty damn good in their own rights.

Picking up Mackenro to get Mackensie isn't really taking a bullet in the slightest. Some people think Mackenro could develop into a pretty talented safety with coaching and some development eyars

I was about to say Alexander, but it appears he won't be much of a suprise now if he is really interested in AU.

Definitely. If we could somehow end up with Adams, Foster, Lawson, Liner, Alexander, Johnson, Smith, and the others currently committed, then we will be in good shape for the future.

That's how I hope it shakes out. Wouldn't that be the best defensive class at Auburn ever?

Latest rivals juco rankings. Artis-Payne up to #6 overall and bumped to a 4*. Danzey at #19 and the first 3*.

I believe we've got a good shot at Toby Johnson, 4*, #8 overall, as well.

Not sure if we're going after any other juco guys at this point.
