Yeah that hurts. How far removed is Franklin from his shoulder surgery? Cause lord knows he's going to take some hits with a thin line.

Its cool. Franklin's learning how to throw with his left hand.

That's bad news. It's hard to replace two O'linemen and have a cohesive unit. They really need to practice together as a unit to be very good.
I would hate to lose two offensive linemen from this years team.
It's worse then losing two defensive linemen.

O line is key in the SEC. Sucks for Mizzou.

Franklin is fine, ahead of schedule on rehab and in the practices nobody observing has been even able to tell he's hurt. He will be good to go.

Interesting. Shoulders are typically one of the more common joints re-injured especially once you get into contact situations. What exactly did he have done?

From this past Thursday's Columbia Missourian, in answer to your question:
The Missouri football team started practice Thursday with some good news.
James Franklin, the team's starting quarterback last season, fully participated in practice and should be ready to start the Tigers' opening game Sept. 1. Franklin underwent surgery for his throwing shoulder this offseason after tearing his labrum.
With his shoulder good to go, Franklin will also get plenty of help from the rest of his offense this season. Missouri has three receivers who are 6-foot-4 or taller, something that Missouri's coaches hope to be able to use to their advantage.

The biggest thing you Mizzou fans will notice is how much better line play is here in the SEC. Your OL and DL is going to struggle a lot initially till your recruiting catches up.

Well I mean in that regard it depends how you look at it with this injury. The true freshman OL who is getting bumped into the starting lineup with these injuries is actually the kind of recruit you are saying we need in order to "catch up" - 4 star recruit, top 150 player in the nation who had offers from Auburn and Arkansas as well as other schools like Oklahoma, and was recruited by Bama and Tennessee as well. In other words, he was seen by your league's own coaches as SEC level talent that was worth going out of their own region to pursue. The previous OL starter who got injured by contrast has probably maxed out his potential already and was a solid 3 star guy but never a star for us. I'm not saying blessing in disguise, but if you are saying we need to start inserting line players with more upside into the lineup, well we are getting a headstart here.

He would never see the field as a true freshman at any of those two schools

LOL. OK coach, thanks for that scouting report there that I'm sure you based on a lot of painstaking research and analysis.
Texas A&M started two true freshman OL last year. It happens. It's not ideal, and Pinkel tries to avoid it, but when you have 2 OL go down like we just did, it can happen.

Your welcome,
ATM showed that too last year

Your welcome,
Actually the true freshman OL for Mizzou that I'm talking about, Evan Boehm, was a higher ranked recruit than 5 of 8 offensive linemen on Auburn's depth chart that I see. But don't let facts like that get in your way.

Quick lesson,
Those star rankings in a lot of cases ain't worth the toilet paper I flush once a day. Secondly it is not about rankings, it is about experience.
And third and most importantly, this is the rant who needs silly facts

He was also a higher ranked recruit than 13 of 14 Arkansas offensive linemen that I've seen on their depth chart so far. Shall I continue or can we just agree that you are full of shite and have no idea if perhaps our guy is actually good enough to see the field for those teams right now?

Arkansas played a couple freshman on the line last year, iirc. it definitely takes them some time to adjust. UGA is probably gonna have Theus on the field this year. How does Boehm compare to Theus?

Unless they make your argument look better and make the SEC lines look more awesomer rather than less, in which case they matter suddenly.

After a slow start, you've now elevated this to post of the week type status. A real 4 star post, if you will.
