BVG put up almost identical defensive rankings in Atlanta as Saban did in Cleveland.

We'll see. He's been out of college since '04 (DC) and he did crap in Atlanta.

fricking pathetic to see UGA fans discrediting BVG

You forgot Brick as DLine coach.

I will admit, I loved the D we had when he was at Georgia, but something was lacking when he was at the Falcons.
Could be talent, could be technique..either way it has kinda made me think he lost his edge.

Is it the fact that he now coaches at a rival?
Posted on 7/26/12 at 6:10 pm to parkjas2001
I don't think so, I think it has more to do with what his recent showing has been.
If Auburn would have gotten him straight from Georgia back in '05 then I would have been worried.

We will have to wait and see after a year or two to really say, but I am liking our RB coach Clarence McKinney and S&C coach Larry Jackson.
McKinney is the recruiting coordinator and is doing better than I expected. Larry Jackson seems to be really intense and one hell of a motivator.

No. I watched Falcon defenses while he was there. They just weren't good. He may be great at Auburn, he may be a dud. We don't know. It's probably harder to coach in college than in the pros because there are more styles of offense to defend and you don't have the talent that you have in the NFL which hinders the learning curve a bit.
It's not "fricking pathetic", he hasn't done anything at Auburn and hasn't coached in college since '04. Is it so unreasonable that we don't think he's one of the best assistant coaches yet?

Brian's flop at Georgia Southern really fricked him in the head. He tried to destroy that program.

based on what exactly? That he had a job in the NFL? Lots of guys on SEC staffs had jobs in the NFL.

Listing any coach that hasn't coached a game yet at their current position is dumb, so the argument is moot.

You realize he's one of 3 assistants in this league to win the Broyles award, right?

I would probably agree with that. I would have put Cooper at the top of the list before he left. A couple of the new guys have shown serious promise on the recruiting trail. I hope they can coach 'em up.

Balis as S&C, has to be one of the best in the country.
Wilson as DC is pretty damn good, too. It's too bad he didn't come on strong last year until after he shite the bed against auburn.

What have you done for me lately?
Not saying he won't be good, but you can't just anoint a guy the best when he's been coaching a different level for 8 years or so.
What's the story on Tenner's assistants? All of the guys left Dooley last year, do they have any quality on staff?

Au fans and their premature fapulation on BVg is really sad. He hasn't done a single thing at Au nor at the college sec level in 8 years but everyone who doesn't crown him as the best DC are delusional posters. I just hope Chiz doesn't screw up his defense.
