He had less yardage

Gerhart 1871 yds 27 TDs
157 yds 0 TDs

Ingram 1658 yds 17 TDs
334 yds 3 TDs

Luck was a freshman and threw 13 TDs that year.
Also Gerhart's line was an absolute joke compared to Ingram's. Ingram won the Heisman because he played on the better team that's the only reason Richardson was even in the convo with Griffin this year.

Why are you highlighting only a portion of the stats? You wanna go the Doak Walker route?

Ingram was a better player. Period. How many fumbles did Gerhart lose? Ingram lost none.

And the Stanford Oline was a joke? Gimme a break. Go back and look who was drafted off that line.

McElroy had more TD's and pass attempts that year, but luck was the one taking the focus of the defense

Didn't half of Gerhart's tds come on goal line situations? Like five yards or less? And idk why you'd highlight rushing and not receiving. And SEC Ds >>> PAC12 Ds.

The NFL draft disagrees with you heavily. Gerhardt's stats were marginally better than Ingram's but Ingram facing SEC defenses and leading his team to a national title breaks that tie all day any day.
