Yeah Ingram was better than TG..and still is..
Not in college. TG faced more top 30 defenses.Ingram faced more top 50 defenses. I love Ingram. Watching his Heisman speech made me see him in a diff light and I'm a life long Saints fan.

Toby Gerhart had a future first pick playing QB in front of him, as well as future first round offensive linemen blocking for him, playing in a weakened Pac-10. There is no way he was better than Ingram.
Luck was a freshman. Ingram also had a stud rb to give him a breather. Ingram had the better line and also had Julio on the outside which usually meant safety help , over the top, rather than safety help in the box. Ingram had far better offensive players around him. TG was basically Stanford's offense in 09.

I know. If anyone got screwed, it was Suh. That Heisman vote told me that a Def player would never win it again. Suh had the most dominate season , in the last 20-30 years, and was snubbed.
Agree 100%. So dumb that a lineman never wins it considering Heisman himself was one.

Tebow's second, a victim of south western sports writers kung fu treachery!

Luck was a freshman.
Andrew Luck completed nearly 60% of his passes for close to 2,600 yards in his freshman year and was the team's second leading rusher. Plus the team didn't miss a beat without Gerhart the next two years as they went a combined 23-3.

As awesome as McFadden was, Arkansas wasn't that great during the years he was there... hard to win a Heisman when your team is pretty average.

The only two losses oSu had were to OU and NU who were both top 5.
ETA:
I think they were 1/2 and OU beat NU last game of year.

Peyton never beat UF and in his sr year at UF he was picked off for a 89 yd trip to the house by Tony George. The Swamp was rocking that day.

Not in the time frame, but Herschel should have won it in 1980.

I was actually going to say this earlier on here, but looked up the winner and it was George Rogers from south Carolina. He was a beast too

Remember that the late 1980's Big 8 included REALLY bad Kansas and Kansas State teams, not to mention Iowa State, and Texas Tech which were also doormats. they also faced Miami OH and Tulsa that year.
Take away Barry Sanders and OSU was a 4-7, maybe 5-6 team IMHO. At best. Very mediocre team who peaked with the right two players at the right time (Sanders and of course Thomas the previous year).
Granted, my opinion plus fitty cents might get you a cuppa coffee somewhere.

Ingram had 5 games with less than 100 yrds (RB standard) rushing the year he won it. Has there ever been a Heisman RB Winner with a stat like that ?
This.
