Yeah, getting curbstomped every year by both teams will start to make you numb to the pain

Why is it that the chosen alter ego of everyone from Arkansas is "rageaholic jerkoff" and the alter egos of other school's fans are mostly "funny guy I'd like to have a beer with"?

Pork is far superior to beef. This is the one thing Texans are just plain wrong about!

I had to, dude! Pork is moist, succulent, and divinely flavorful. Beef is dry, tough, and needs to be smothered in BBQ sauce. I've had some really, really good brisket that approached pork-like qualities, BUT I feel it's few and far between and whereas even the novice can produce good prok BBQ, I have to drive to someplace like City Market to get beef that comes close.

prok... I'm going ot leave that there. It's a new species.

cooter - have you checked out franklins or jmueller's?

Both are extremely good and I'll eat either depending on the day. I do like beef most is Texas and pork from Memphis (also hear SC has really good pork) Texas just has the best of both worlds.

I agree that brisket is harder to do right. But, done right, it beats the hell out of any pork.
I'll say this for the Arkansas BBQ that I've had...it's light years better then South Carolina BBQ. They actually put mustard on their BBQ in that state. It is obscene. Between that and boiled peanuts, one has all the evidence one needs to conclude that that state is a collection of seriously disturbed palates.
I have had some very, very good BBQ in Arkansas.

Is it really that funny? Are you ready for another arse whipping this year? Will you "rofl" after that, too?

Boiled Peanuts are downright delicious
They are kinda nasty though, I'll admit that

Maybe the Arkansas/A&M game should be called the BBQ bowl.

Oh they are nasty as hell but so good. I guess I like them because my grandpa ate them all the time when I was a kid (he is from GA). They are kind of hard to get around Houston/Galveston, so I'm forced to get the canned ones... still delicious.

I love them.
BTW, I love brisket too, I was raised on pork BBQ (little Rock is pretty much Memphis light) and thats what I like to smoke. Arkansas is very diversified when it comes to BBQ. We are surrounded by cities and states that claim different styles of Q. Texas, Memphis, KC, St. Louis. Its all frickin good.

Note to self:
Ignore the culinary opinion of any man who admits to thinking that boiled peanuts are delicious.
