If your asking me if I thought they were the best team then the answer is no, however considering the way other schools claim NCs I wouldn't blame them if they claimed it.

Btw there are other years that UT could claim if we used the standards of some schools

When USC was forced to vacate the title, Auburn issued a statement saying they were prepared to claim the 2004 championship.

Had it all worked out, no one should've given them shite about it. There was no playoff and they were, by far, the most legit team that year, since USC was stripped.

And that's the problem with the selection process. No one will have EVER known. But since there is no longer an existing champion, the BCS should retroactively award AU with the '04 title.
