Not trying to rain on our own parade but does anyone get the sense that we are getting these offensive recruits because the Gus bus has left Auburn? I feel like we were always the 2nd choice for most of their guys but with a totally new staff what do y'all think?

Gus may have had some to do with Sandberg, but very little to do with Woods. Sandberg probably would have had an offer from Auburn if Gus was still here, but Woods would be the same under both staffs most likely.
In the end it matters little how or why you get someone, they'll still be a bulldog at the end of the day. Almost every team gets players occasionally because another school is full or doesn't have room in a particular year, doesn't mean the players aren't studs in their own right.
Anyway, congrats on Woods, I think he should be a good one.

Gus liked Sandberg, but Loeffler didn't even have him in his top five. He didn't have a committable offer from Auburn. As for Woods, I wanted him, but we have bigger fish left on board according to insiders. We don't really have a need at WR so we can afford to be picky.
