1a. Football
1b. Men's Basketball

Honestly, aside from that, I hope they do well and I will watch if it is on TV, but I'm not going to go out of my way to keep up with it religiously.

For me it's football and nothing else. I've been interested in softball for the last four years or so because I've had friends on the team. The last one graduates in December so I'll go back to just caring about football come next season.

That's why I specifically said they weren't National Championship calibre programs as opposed to saying they weren't good programs.

If you can make it to that stage, you're good enough to win the NC if a few things fall your way.

it wouldn't matter, I can't see LSU fans claiming to like other sports over football, baseball, or basketball no matter how bad they get or how good some womens program does.

Those are the big 3 and will always be the big 3.

And the issue about Rivals dropping baseball. Could have something to do with the fact that Bama's Rivals site changed affiliates since last season. Different ownership, different staff, different priorities.

they published articles early in the season, when it became apparent the team wasn't good, it was yanked.

Not if there are other teams that are significantly better. Are we talking about national runner-up champions now?

I see article from April and May. Granted it's not much coverage but I don't think it's a sharp departure from what it was early in the season. Baseball has always taken a large back seat to spring training in football.

it does at most schools, but they had nice coverage the last 2 years when bama was good. That's how I kept up with bama's baseball team.

I hope yall make the super regionals next season, so we can see all the baseball fans emerge.

Again, this is only your individual opinions, so everybody will possibly vary somewhat. I think the general consensus will be something like:

1). Football
2). Women's gymnastics
3). Women's softball
4). Men's basketball
5). Tennis/golf ??

For me:

1) Football
2) Men's basketball (slightly behind football)

3) Baseball

4) Gymnastics, Softball, Men's Golf
5) Women's Golf

6) Men's and Women's Track and Field, Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving, Men's and Women's Tennis, Women's Soccer

So you are saying he changed what team he was pulling for based on who was better? Because last I checked, he was pulling for Alabama the entire time. Maybe you are having trouble with what the word "bandwagon" actually means.

Baseball is boring to watch on TV. I might watch if we were in the last series of the CWS, but I try not to watch on TV. I may go to a game if I have the chance, but I'd go to a softball game before I'd go to a baseball game. This would not change even if both baseball and softball were in contention for the national title. Softball is a much more entertaining game than baseball imo.

I think Alabama's softball team has gained such a following due to how this has been done. Most schools recruit in primarily California, but Alabama chooses to recruit in the southeast. They don't ignore good players from Cali, but they're not offering every girl in California a scholarship. If you were paying any attention at all last night, you would have noticed that OK's starting lineup had 5 girls from Cali, one girl from Australia, and the rest from OK. Alabama's team only had 1 girl from Bama, but the most of the rest of the players are from the southeast. There is 1 girl from Oregon and 1 girl from New York, but none from California. They became the first team to win the NC with fewer than 4 players from Cali. I'm sure they'll be the only team to win with absolutely no players from California for quite a long time. I like that, and I think most Bama fans get behind that and are proud that the team takes pride in winning with southern athletes.

edit: I only care about Gymnastics because we win.
