You keep mentioning "second chances" with respect to teams that didn't win their conference. I personally don't feel that a 2 or 3 loss conference champion is automatically more deserving of a second (or 3rd or 4th) chance than a 1 loss team that didn't win its conference.

The Rose Bowl is the biggest obstacle standing in the way of a playoff. Brilliant move by Slive to marginalize it.
