A dynasty? Bama has won the SEC once in the past 12 years
Good point but they have also won the NC 2 times in that same time frame even though aubrun has won the SEC twice in the last 12 years and aubrun has 7 SEC championships just one ahead of Ole Miss ( who last won the SEC in 1963 ) and two ahead of Georgia Tech ( who left the SEC in 1964 and last SEC championship was 1951 ) so I dont consider Alabama a dynasty at this point.

Last season was Coach Chizik's 5th season as a HC. What was Saban's record and how many rings had he won after his 5th season as a coach?
Saban 34-24-1, 0-3 in bowls, 1 Co-Champion MAC
9-2 (Toledo)- 6-5-1, 6-6, 7-5, 6-6 (MSU)
Chizik 35-29, 3-0 in bowls, 1 SEC, 1 NC
3-9, 2-10 (ISU)- 8-5, 14-0, 8-5 (AU)

Apples to oranges, my friend. However, if you want to do this we can.
After first 5 years as HC:
Saban - 34-24 (Best season 9-2. Worst 6-6)
Chiz - 35-29 (Best 14-0. Worst 2-10)
Saban took over a MSU team that had 4 consecutive losing seasons.
Chiz took over an ISU team that had gone bowling in 2 of the previous 3 seasons (and 5 of th previous 7).
Next stop:
Saban took over an LSU team that had been UNRANKED in 8 of the previous 10 final polls. Chizik took over an AU team that had gone a very impressive 47-16 in the five years before he got there and had just finished going 7-3 against its top rival in the previous 10 years.
Show me when Saban or Miles lost TEN consecutive games. Show me when they've had back-to-back losing records (saban has never had a losing record as a college coach). Show me when Saban or Miles has had their team horribly outplayed & outcoached multiple times in a single season as Chiz just had in 2011 when his team got embarassed in each of their 5 losses.
Chizik may turn out to be a phenomenal head coach, but I think there are very few that would view him favorably in a comparison against Saban or Miles at this point.

Well, that's just like, your opinion, man.

Short memories and such.
Go back to 2008. Where the mighty bengal tigers had to come back to beat Troy at home and got blown out by UGA, UF, & Ole Miss. And that stellar 3-5 SEC record.
Not to mention Saban's embarrassing losses to ULM & UAB.
Saban also got blown the frick out in at least 3 games a year at MSU.
1995
50-10: Nebraska
45-14: Wisconsin
45-26: LSU (Garry F'ing Dinardo)
1996
55-14: Nebraska
45-29: Michigan
38-0: Stanford
1997
L to Northwestern (5-7)
23-7: Michigan
51-23: Washington
37-13: OSU
1998
48-14: Oregon
51-28: PSU
1999
52-28: Purdue
40-10: Wisconsin

Couple of things. 1) If you're gonna give LSU hell about coming from behind to beat Troy by 9 then I guess you're gonna give your own team hell for needing an onside kick to beat Utah State, huh?
2) UGA beat LSU by 13 that year. I wouldn't call that a "blow out".

Those were embarassing loses in his first year in new programs. No doubt.

Show me where he managed to not correct the problems from those loses and continued on to lose 10 straight.
You're a good dude, joeyb, but you can't honestly think that Chizik is in the same category of coach as Miles or Saban. He may eventually be, but he isn't close to it right now.

Chizik is a fricking joke compared to Saban and Miles,if ole Cecil didn't need some renovations, his arse would be on the hotseat now..

My own team gets plenty of hell from rivals on this point. No need to expand on it. It was embarrassing. But people still seem to forget about it on here so I decided to point it out again.

And yet Auburn loses to Clemson (ACC champs) by 14, and that is considered a blowout? That 1 point make that big of a difference? "Embarrassing loss" as you put it?
ETA: LSU lost by 14 points (52-38). Yes, giving up 52 points to UGA, at home, is a blowout.

I never said he was. But each of them had their down years & embarrassing moments, no matter how you want to slant it in your favor. You just have the luxury of knowing what happens after their first 5 years for them.

How many of those blowouts came after winning a national championship? I can count one: A 45-16 loss at the hands of Georgia in 2004.

Would the Alabama fans in the SEC Rant like to see a 30 for 30 covering:
1. The history of the program
2. The Coach Bryant years
3. The Coach Saban years
4. A 30 for 30 focusing on Coach Bryant
I am torn on what I would like to see as I am unsure 60 minutes is enough time to cover the entire history of the program. But, I find even the early years with The Rose Bowl appearances interesting and then the fall and then the rise again with Coach Bryant.
Covering the Coach Bryant years would require at least a few minutes to discuss his years at the university as a student athlete.
I think the Coach Saban years, while recently important, plays only a small part in the program's history
Now, I would truly enjoy seeing a 30 for 30 program focusing just on Coach Bryant.
What are your thoughts?

History of the program. It'd be very condensed, but it would give other fanbases the opportunity to learn some actual facts about Bama's past, instead of reading jumbled half truths on blogs.
