So Arkansas had to hire a coach that was currently sitting on his arse? Yea, that's a long list to choose from....

Arkansas screwed Weber State.

I just have to clear this up. Its ok to hire a coach around bowl time and right after but no other time?
What about the players of that coach you hire?

Exactly, I think he has a larger personal obligation to our players than to Weber State's

Not really anybody else's problem. Therefore, why punish another school because of Arkansas' coach's indiscretions.

Google is your friend.
Googled it. All speculation he was going to retire from the Weber State job after the season.
Apparently, retirement wasn't in his plans when he took the Arky job. I bet if he goes 11-1 and Long offers him the job for 3 years/$12mil at the end of the year, he won't be retiring then, either.
Then, of course, there's the guys that hope Long can hire that whore Saban. Really? Wouldn't you rather beat Saban than hire him? I bet some of you losers would take one up the 'ol poop chute for a shot at Saban coaching the Hogs.

Have any of you ever quit a job and took another one?
You fkers sure do have high morals.

i think the bigger issue is the circumstances surrounding the hire.
Weber just hired their coach. I'm sure they were thinking they were done until next year if JLS was indeed retiring.
Different question: Why would JLS go to Weber for one year and why would Weber think that's a great idea.

What about a 1 year deal with terms in the contract to be fired at any time doesn't say a 1 and done?

Can't beat em... hire him ~
Haha, I don't think Saban would jump ship for UA. Alabama would top anything we had to offer him. Therefore, any talk about Saban is mostly out of humor than anything else.

I wonder if Weber sent JLS flowers to congratulate him on his new job? Maybe they paid for the uhaul.

No they didn't...
You could formulate a better argument for the Arky incoming freshman class if you wanted

I'm not saying they didn't but its part of the game coaches are hired and fired constantly.

Again, Jeff Long handed out a 10mo contract. That means he will spend the next year talking to various big name coaches.
Even if J. Smith takes UA to the NC, Jeff Long will know that 1. he did it with Petrino's team and 2. that he has around $5mil/year to buy the best coach available.
