The ground was covered in hail here. We also have a really deep drainage area behind our house that has turned into a huge lake. Any more rain and our house could have been flooded. At least 5 inches of rain in about two hours.
So it's safe to assume the terrible drought there is over?

The hell has been up with the weather patterns lately?

One heavy rain event is not a drought buster. This was the worst drought in Texas history, so this will only help some.

University Drive? Boats?
For the unfamiliar, think of your city's main thoroughfare. Now exchange the cars with boats.
WTF?

Tornado is gone. Flash flood warning until tomorrow morning. Rain has stopped for now, but another wave is supposed to come some time in the night.

Looks like there might be more rain today and tomorrow, hopefully the area can avoid major flooding. Some areas have gotten 8-9 inches of rain already
