it is way down the list of things that matter

otherwise notre dame would always be near the top of the list instead of struggling to find guys that want to go there

Saban goes to LSU - LSU shoots to the top of the SEC recruiting heap. Mack Brown goes to Texas - Texas starts out recruiting OU, Nebraska, etc

It is mostly about the guy doing your recruiting and the location of the school IMO

And I would say that will always be easier to recruit at Texas, Alabama, OSU, USC, Michigan, Penn State, Notre Dame, etc.

Those programs don't stay down for long. Shula constantly got top 20 recruiting clases at Alabama (better than Arky is getting now with Petrino) and he wasn't a good coach or recruiter.

And LSU/Texas were getting plenty of good recruits before Saban/Brown showed up.
