Most of the players on last year's defense were from his first recruiting class...franklin, nelson, bequette, thomas, madison, and the like. I think next year will really tell if his defensive recruiting is up to par or not. It suprised me this year that we had a better defensive recruiting class than offensive...but thats what we needed

fwiw i think Petrino is one of the best at finding guys first and developing lower rated guys...its just when he has to go against bigger name programs that he usually loses out because he's not as good at selling the program with his personality
