Jim Harbaugh or Nick Saban?
Saban was a colossal failure at the NFL, whereas Harbaugh is making an instant impact

who is the better coach?

Rick Pitino was a colossal failure as an NBA coach, but he has been a damn good NCAA coach. It's apples and oranges.

I'm not sure what it matters. I don't want him to be a great NFL coach. I want him to be the best coach in college football.

Look up Tubby Smith's record while at Kentucky and compare it to Rick's tie at Louisville and get back to me.

Sure, Rick WAS a great coach, but I think the game has passed him by and he will not adjust to it. The book is out in the recruiting world with him, he is known to run his players into the ground during practices, the young studs are not going to Louisville because of it (sure, he may get a stud here and there).

Saban is an awesome coach in college....but Jimbo is great in both college and pros.

There are differences, but it's harder in the NFL than in college. I'd be far more confident hiring a successful NFL coach to run a college program than hiring successful college coach to run an NFL team.
